Day 255

Guernsey Air ShowGuernsey Air Show today and The Little Mister really enjoyed taking photos on his phone of the Red Arrows.

It was a lovely day, although a little breezy, and it was nice to take a couple of hours off to enjoy the planes with the kids.

Day 254

Never Give Up

Sometimes work can be really frustrating. Sometimes it can be sad.

Sometimes, there is something that brings a smile to my face.

Today was one those occasions when a client who has just overcome some enormous struggles in her own life, presented me with this lovely painted stone. I will treasure it and remember that people are worth fighting for.

Day 253

My baby goes to school! So, today my baby girl started school. Despite the fact that she is one of the youngest in the year having turned 4 about a month ago she is super ready to go to school!

She managed to get herself dressed all by herself this morning and then insisted on carrying all her bags herself. Little Miss Independent.

She had a wonderful, exciting day and I am grateful for a school community that is so nurturing and caring. Life is good and I cannot wait to see how much she changes over the next year.

I’m proud of you little girl. Be brave and strong but most of all, be kind.

Day 252

Rainbow bargainWe have a really brilliant charity shop near to work and occasionally I pop in to see what’s going.

Today I managed to pick up these lovely rainbow glasses which make me smile. Nice and bright and cheerful. Let’s see how long they last for before being shattered!

Day 251

RapunzelThe Little Miss was given this Rapunzel dress by her friend Ava. She absolutely loves it and has hardly taken it off since she got it.

So, this is how we pick blackberries in our house; wearing a Rapunzel dress with a large ginger cat for assistance. Living the dream.

Day 250

DahliaDad’s garden is coming to the end of it’s beauty but there are still some gorgeous dahlias.

This one is probably my favourite. Big and bold with lots of colour. Gorgeous.

Day 249

Recycling

There is an awful lot of complaining going on in Guernsey at the moment about the new waste and recycling strategy.

It seems that people are struggling with the idea that they need to recycle their food waste in a separate bin to other recyclables. Even The kids can manage it. Come on people. It’s not that hard!

Day 247

End of the holidays

The very last day of the holidays before The Little Mister goes back to school.

I treated the kids to an ice-cream at Richmond Kiosk and we spent a happy half an hour chatting to a lovely couple who are over on holiday. It made me laugh to see the kids happily chattering away to them whilst I was queuing for ice-cream. At some point I will have to teach them about Stranger Danger, but it is nice they can feel safe enough to talk to different people.

Day 246

Special... effects

Oops Emma and I have discovered that if you WhatsApp facetime each other then there are lots of ridiculous effects. The children thought it was hilarious.
