Pancake DayPancake Day and I have to admit that I really don’t like them very much. The children are absolute converts though especially when lined with Nutella!

Souper

I am trying really hard to diet at the moment and I seem to be living off soup for lunch as it is quick and easy and low-calorie.

This is one of my favourites. Tasty and full of fibre. Delicious.

Chickpea and spinach curry

I have decided that this year I want to try and reduce the amount of meat we eat as a family. This is going to be tough as I love meat!

Tonight I made chickpea and spinach curry and it was delicious but pretty spicy. It was from the Tom Kerridge diet recipe book and was very tasty.

Day 63

Pie

These days I am a pretty good pie maker and I was especially proud of this one for Sunday lunch. Chicken and mushroom and it was delicious!

A year in pictures – Day 82

Amazon PantryFood shopping is so expensive over here and I have decided to see how much cheaper it is to stop at Amazon Pantry.

This was my first order. Very exciting. Let’s see how long it takes for us to use this lot up!

2016 Project366 (Day 300)

Chicken nuggets

I am bored of our evening means. We eat the same thing all the times; chilli, spag bol, curry, shepherd’s pie. Boring, boring, boring.

Today I made home-made chicken nuggets. They were yummy and so easy to do!

2016 Project366 (Day 227)

Crispy Pork

Throughout the summer Guernsey shuts the town seafront and has a variety of events on Sundays. They are called Seafront Sunday and have all sorts of themes from motorsport to Arts and today Was food Seafront Sunday.

The town was heaving as usual, mainly due to the cruise ship that was moored up in The Little Russell and there were food demos and stalls selling all sorts.

One of our favourite stalls is Atan Ahan and they sell delicious Thai food. The Mister had a really hot beef curry and as usual I had the delicious Crispy Pork. It is gorgeous, fresh and tasty fast food. You don’t find that very often!

2016 Project366 (Day 215)

Stress ManagementToday has been pretty mental.

First of all I had The Little Mister’s three and half year check which was pretty traumatic, especially when he saw them coming towards him with the injections and he looked up at me and said ‘Don’t let them hurt me Mummy.’ It made me cry.

Then this afternoon I had a couple of meetings that were a bit like being on Jeremy Kyle. Exhausting.

I picked the kids up from the childminder and couldn’t even face cooking tea so phoned my Dad and headed straight for a local restaurant. I don’t think I have ever done that!!

Oh well. Almost bedtime!

2016 Project366 (Day 91)

DeliveryI arrived home today to find that Dad had delivered me a box of fruit and veg, and a box of cakes.

I love it when things get more chilled than they should have done!

2016 Project366 (Day 51)

Food shopping

One of our biggest expenses apart from our mortgage and a few other bills is food. It seems to cost us an absolute fortune even when we budget hard. I guess it is partly because we rarely eat out and we take packed lunches etc.

This week was even worse though. It was pay day which means a bigger than usual shop and =he inlaws are arriving on Monday so that’s two more people to feed in the evenings.

I dream of having a Lidl, Aldi, an Asda or a Tescos. Instead we have Waitrose. This was a nearly £200 shop. Ouch.
