Veg Patch 2019

We have had a lovely Bank Holiday although the weather hadn’t been amazing. We did manage to do a bit of planting in the veg patch though. It’s just as well we love beans – we have planted heaps of plants and I am expecting a bumper crop as long as the slugs do not get to them!

GardenBank Holiday today and we managed to get a bit of time in the garden sorting out the vegetable patch.

I have no ides what this plant is but it is always so beautiful when it blooms every year.

Pink and frothy and lovely. Glorious.

Blooming marvellous

The garden is blooming and the apple tree is covered in gorgeous frothy white blossom. Coupled with a blue sky and the opportunity to hang the washing out, I am a happy lady!

Grim gardenThe garden is such a mess at the moment. It needs more time than we can give it and it could be so beautiful!

We got out to do a but of tidying up today though. It felt good to be out and doing stuff.

Day 148

Dad's garden centreWe have quite a big garden and it is a constant battle to keep it looking ok. In contrast my Dad has the most immaculate garden. He spends a lot of money and hundreds of hours weeding and tidying. He also is growing a lot of plants ready to pot up, so I went to visit to see what I could scrounge for my tubs and pots!

Day 126

PotatoesIt has been such a beautiful day today and we have spent quite a bit of time in the garden over the last couple of days. The Mister has been working very hard indeed.

Our potatoes are growing very nicely and we are prepping the veg patch for planting. I love growing our own food.

Victoria Plum

Even the Victoria Plum tree is blossoming. I am hoping for more fruit this year and fewer caterpillars!

Day 99

PrimrosesThe garden might be really untidy and full of weeds but it is also springing into life. Gorgeous primroses splash glorious colours in all the corners of the garden, reminding us that better weather is to come (I hope±)

A year in pictures – Day 259

DenIt has been a busy day and the kids have been quite trying. I am guessing it is because they are really tired.

The Little Miss was a reluctant participant at her music lesson today and The Little Mister refused to stay. He said there were too many girls there!

This afternoon I went and did some food shopping and the kids stayed with The Mister. I love this picture he took of them, happy as anything and playing in the den they made.
