Day 159

Beach life

One of the best things about being in Guernsey is being so close to the beach. We spent a lovely time down there today. Pizza for the kids for tea – a perfect evening.

Day 147

Best days

It has been the most glorious day. We went to church and then spent some time in the garden. I went to a Zumba class and then we took the kids to the beach for a splash about. I was intending on going swimming but it was absolutely freezing!

I love evenings like this. It was warm and gorgeous and there was a band playing at the hotel up the road. The beach was full of families playing, eating, chilling and being together. Guernsey at it’s best.

Day 110

Beach days... in April!

We have had the most glorious couple of days in Guernsey – it has been warm and sunny and just beautiful. These are the days I most appreciate living in Guernsey.

After school we headed to the beach with friends so the children could play together and then we had fish and chips for tea.

More moments of gratitude. More time to appreciate all the good things we have. More laughter and smiles. We are so very fortunate to have all of this.

Day 94

4 April 2018

It has been the most beautiful day. Warm and sunny and we went down to a gorgeous beach.

Set under tall cliffs the sea was a little too rough, and too cold, to go in but we had a lovely couple of hours there.

There was a groups of lads down there who were flying a drone. The guy flying it was really good and he was totally on control of it. I wonder what they were making a film for.

Day 69

Cobo Bay

It has been a surprisingly beautiful day and has been relatively warm. Despite being really grumpy about it we grabbed the kids and persuaded them out for a walk to Le Guet.

This view across Cobo Bay always makes me grateful. It always makes me thankful for the fact we live on such a beautiful island which is safe and peaceful and has loads of opportunities for our children.

Day 23

Blessings

…even when the weather is rough and the sea is frothy and choppy.
…even when I feel as though life is busy and I am tired and the kids are poorly.
… even when all I think about are the things I don’t have rather than what I do have.

I know I am blessed and I am grateful for what I do have. Sometimes, I just need to keep reminding myself of the good things.

A year in pictures – Day 1

New Year's Day

I uhmed and ahed whether to head straight into another year of photos but I know there are people out there who like to read my ramblings! This will be my fourth year of daily photos without a day missed so far so that feels like quite an achievement!

This afternoon we headed down to the beach with some foolish cousins who thought going for a New Year’s Day swim was an excellent idea. It was… shall we say… bracing!

The year has started. Who knows what it will bring. We have happy events planned but I am pretty sure there is likely to be some sadness on the way. All I know is that we will face all things together. Much love to all my wonderful family x

A year in pictures – Day 361

Windy walkAnother lovely day spent with my cousin Tim and his family.

We took a short walk across the week – the wind was absolutely phenomenal and the sea had whipped up foam all along the shoreline!

Such a beautiful beach though, and it was nice to get out. I can’t take credit for this photo though – Tim took it!

A year in pictures – Day 360

26 December

As usual on Boxing Day we all went to Cobo Beach for the annual swim. This year I broke with tradition and decided to go in myself.

It was absolutely flipping freezing, but I have to admit I quite enjoyed it! I will not subject you of any horrendous pictures of me in a swimsuit though!

It was lovely to see the kids playing together on the beach. We love it in all weathers, regardless of whether it is warm and sunny or cold and windy!
