A year in pictures – Day 363

Happy holidays

One of the best things about being on holiday is spending all day in your pyjamas!

The Little Mister has spent loads of time today making up lego models. He is getting really good at it and can do most of them by himself.

Christingle

Had a nice day of Christmas food prep including cooking the turkey (gah – think I have overcooked it because I was so paranoid about undercooking it!) and making trifle.

This evening we went to the Christingle service at church. It was absolute carnage as usual and it always makes me laugh. We managed to escape unscathed without setting fire to anyone or anything. I class that as a successful outing!

Lieel Elf

My cute little elf was able to wear his Christmas jumper to school today as it was the last day. Super cute, he made me smile when I saw these pictures!

Hero worship

The Little Mister has demonstrated who is his real hero by writing this card to his big cousin Barnabas. He might be an annoying little cousin but it’s pretty sweet!

A year in pictures – Day 350

16 DecemberToday we took The Little Mister and a couple of his friends to the cinema to see Ferdinand. It was a really sweet little film in the end.

Not only is The Little Mister developing educationally at school and learning loads he is also learning to navigate the complexities of relationships.

This is Maxi, his ‘bestie’ and The Little Mister has described him as being like his brother. They love each other and are double trouble. Max’s Mum and I are great friends so we are delighted that the boys are such good friends. Heaven knows where this friendship is going to take us all in the future!

A year in pictures – Day 348

Birthday boyHow amazing that this gorgeous boy of 5 today!

It feels like in the last couple of months he has changed loads. Since starting school it is like he is a human sponge, soaking up so many facts and skills. It’s awesome to see how quickly he is learning and developing. It’s just so exciting.

He is wonderful feisty and funny little creature but he is also such hard work at times. Super stubborn and very stroppy when he is tired. He is definitely giving us a run for our money.

Little Mister, I love you. You have been a game changer for my life and I adore you x

Best mates

Whilst I didn’t have a gigantic hangover I was definitely feeling more delicate than usual today.

This afternoon we took the kids to Messy Church and whilst The Little Mister was really awkward to start with he soon perked up when his best mate Maxi arrived.

The pair of them are definitely partners in crime. Goodness knows what they will be like as teenagers!

A year in pictures – Day 341

King EdwardThis afternoon The Mister and I went to see The Little Mister in his school concert.

He was a king but I didn’t manage to get any photos of him alone, and I am not allowed to post pics of other children.

This is a picture I told a couple of weeks ago. He was less than amused at having to try on the king outfit I had lovingly made him. I thought he looked fabulous.

A year in pictures – Day 336

Poorly boyMy poor boy really isn’t very well. It is so unusual for him to fall asleep on me, let alone at 6.15pm.

Hopefully it is just a virus which will pass quickly.

A year in pictures – Day 316

Brave boy

So today at church The Little Mister had an incident and bashed his chin against the corner of the coffee table.

It was deep enough for me to be concerned and we had a little trip to A&E.

At the time I took this photo he was behaving himself and was happy to talk to the nurse. However, this all changed when she mentioned gluing the cut and he went absolutely CRAZY! In the end she used a few steri-strips and hopefully that will be enough to stop it scarring.

He is so stubborn when he does not want to do anything.
