Day 40

Sir Edward the BraveToday at school The Little Mister had a Banquet Day. I am still relatively unclear what this means although it appears they have been doing about castles.

They were asked to dress up either as a knight, a prince or a princess and I even saw a few dragons. I raided my sisters dressing up box (a very reliable source of dressing up gear!) and The Little Mister or Sir Edward the Brave as he was known today, went off to school.

At the end of the day we were invited to go and see them dancing – he was less keen about this part of the day but it was hilarious.

An amazing day for The Little Mister was topped off by his first ever school disco. Amazing!

Day 33

Mrs ArmstrongThere is an fabulous exhibition at Candie Museum. The exhibition is Amazing Women – Yellow Chair Project’ – portraits of influential women in Guernsey by Olympia McEwan and it is fantastic.

This wonderful portrait is of Edward’s school teacher Connie Armstrong. Edward loves school and I think all his teachers are amazing but Mrs Armstrong has been amazingly inspiring, kind, strict (when she needs to be) but most of all, she’s great fun.

A year in pictures – Day 293

School

Today the Lieutenant Governor and his wife visited The Little Mister’s school.

This was one of the pics that was taken and apparently Edward and his friend Buddy had been talking to the chauffeur of the posh car and he let them sit in the back. It made me smile because apparently they told him ‘That was awesome. Thank you!’

A year in pictures – Day 291

SparklyThe Little Mister went with his class to visit the pumpkin farm yesterday.

Today he arrived home with a spectacularly decorated pumpkin – I never thought a pumpkin could look so stylish!

The Wanachi Bear

The Mister did an excellent job of putting together the book for Tiggy The Wanachi Bear.

I think he should have got a star for excellent work!

A year in pictures – Day 254

First day at schoolToday marked another milestone – The Little Mister started at school.

He was so looking forward to going, and he was super ready in terms of development, but I always harboured a small worry that he might have a complete meltdown like he did when his swimming lessons changed.

However, we met his friends in the playground and he went in very happily with a smile on his face.

I am so proud to be Mummy to this little boy. He changed my life nearly 5 years ago and I am constantly grateful to have him and to enjoy him.

He said he really enjoyed school and he liked playing outside with his friends. He is looking forward to going back tomorrow. Another first done.

A year in pictures – Day 179

Time Out Zone

The Mister and I went to visit the school that The Little Mister will go to in September. It was all a bit surreal to be honest.

I have realised several things…
1. School drop offs and collections are going to be tricky.
2. I am not sure how we are meant to fit our working hours around these drop-offs/pick-ups.
3. It would be much easier if I didn’t work.

As we left we spotted this sign on the wall. We expect The Little Mister might be making good friends with it!

2016 Project366 (Day 184)

School fayre

Today The Mister and I took the kids up to the school that they will attend in the future as it was their school summer fayre.

I have never been through the playing fields and there is the most gorgeous view out over the West Coast of Guernsey.

There is also a pretty fine playground which the boys made good use of.
