Day 342

Wrapping

I suddenly had a panic when I got the Christmas presents down from the loft and saw just how much I have bought. I swear it has been breeding in the attic!

Time to start the wrapping.

Day 335

Santa comes to town

Day 335 – It’s been a very Christmassy weekend and despite the drizzly, grey weather we took the bus into town to see Santa arrive and hand deliver the Christmas letters from the children. We then went out for pizza for tea and caugt the bus home. Lovely.

Day 334

Christmas Elves

School Christmas Fayre today and the kids all got to meet Father Christmas today.

He was really good and was telling them about his naughty and nice list. I am not sure which one my two will be on yet!

Day 331

Christmas list 2The Little Miss’ Christmas list is extremely specific and it looks like she might be intending on leaving home.

She has requested a phone, a suitcase and a watch.

Excellent drawings though.

A year in pictures – Day 359

25 December

Christmas Day and we had such a lovely day spent with family.

This morning we spent time chilling out in front of the fire opening presents. The kids were pretty excited although their biggest gasps were reserved for the fact that Father Christmas had been and he head eaten all the biscuits but Rudolph had only eaten half his carrot.

My sister and I cooked lunch at Dad’s house. We did a pretty good job although due to gossiping a lot and drinking a bit of prosecco we managed to overcook quite a bit of food. In the end it was a pretty decent meal.

This is what I appreciate most about Christmas Day, time with our family. As usual we miss Mum loads and life just isn’t quite the same without her but I think we are making a pretty good go at life without her.

Merry Christmas everyone x

A year in pictures – Day 358

Christingle

Had a nice day of Christmas food prep including cooking the turkey (gah – think I have overcooked it because I was so paranoid about undercooking it!) and making trifle.

This evening we went to the Christingle service at church. It was absolute carnage as usual and it always makes me laugh. We managed to escape unscathed without setting fire to anyone or anything. I class that as a successful outing!
