French letters ;)

Hello everyone.

Well I bet you didn't expect to see me back on here so soon did you? Well, i am sitting in my parent's trailer tent at a campsite in France and they have Wi-Fi. Hallelujah and praise be to the baby Jesus indeed.
So, anyway, we have done lots and lots of travelling and we are currently somewhere in the Languedoc region at the moment (I think, although i am not all that sure). Since I came on holiday a week ago I have got through 7 books, including the new Harry Potter so i am doing quite well on the reading front. We have been to visit the Millau Viaduct which is the highest viaduct in the world and it is spectacular (oooo and I released some Bookcrossing books at the visitors centre and one of them has been picked up already – how cool is that?), and we have been on a boat trip down some river or other. I am finally starting to look like it is summer and I have at least got a bit of colour on my skin.

On the other hand I am finding it slightly difficult being away with Mum and Dad (I love them dearly, but enclosed spaces and all that!). When I mentioned a little while ago that my younger sister has announced she is getting married again, I hadn't realised quite how badly i am dealing with it all. I don't want to hear about wedding dresses, cakes, ceremonies, rings or other such bollocks. If I could get out of going to the wedding I would, but I can't. I am generally feeling quite tearful about the whole bloody thing. So, if there are any gorgeous men out there who want to escort me to a family wedding on the tax-free haven of Guernsey in February please get in touch. 😉

See you all soon 🙂 xxx

The Battle Proms

Well tonight Auntie Billie and I went to Hatfield House to see The Battle Proms. We had a lovely time, listening to the orchestra, singing along to all the Last Night of the Proms classics and eating and drinking. The only downside was the weather – at one point it absolutely poured but ti didn’t seem to dampen people’s enthusiasm.

In other news, I am off to France on holiday in the morning so I will see you all in a couple of weeks.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I took a little trip out late tonight to do my recycling and then to pick up a couple of copies of the new Harry Potter book. First I went to Tesco’s where they were selling it for £10 a copy, so I popped into Asda on the way home and bought it for £5. What a bargain! Both copies are still sitting in my kitchen and I intend to save it for when I go on holiday on Sunday morning. Wonder whether I can restrain myself or not.

I would just like to say…

I have the nicest boss in the whole wide world. He is so kind, but fair and has been really understanding about me not being at work so far this week. I have been a bit worried though about getting everything done before I go on holiday, so he suggested that I pop into the office tomorrow to finish the bits I need to do, but not do anything else. He also advised me to cancel all my clients… “They can wait Anna”… I think I am my own worst enemy sometimes. I feel I am indispensible and yet I know I am not.

I need help

… by which I think that I need staff. Someone to clean my house would be a start – it is starting to look like a student house. I am going on holiday on Sunday and I will clean it before I go, but until then it is revolting. Also, I am feeling poorly, it’s just a cold, but it is making me feel really rough. I have way too much work to do and I haven’t really been into the office for two days. So, now I am going to go back to bed to consider my list of things to do.

It’s a hard life

It has always been difficult living with my parents when I go home (ha, ha!!!). As you can see, their cats, Justin and Billy, agree that it is a very difficult, anxiety provoking and frustrating place to live.

B&B

I appear to be running a B&B for cats. I have had problems with another cat coming into my flat so I changed the batter in the magnetic cat flap and thought that would solve the problem. However, I got up this morning to find a big black and white cat happily sleeping in Delilah’s radiator hammock. He’s a gorgeous cat… but was not impressed when I squirted him with water!

Pretty patterns & random comments

I woke up today feeling quite ropey, headache, sore throat etc. Typical. I am off on holiday soon. Anyway, I managed to drag myself out for a swim and then I went with 3 of my friends to the organic market and then onto Kaleidoscope Festival. We had a lovely time wandering about and seeing one of our friends who was on one of the stalls. I have to admit though, it was quite a random trip out. One of the guys I was with, Neil, comes out with some classic comments every now and then. The Kaleidoscope Festival is a multi-cultural festival, but Neil thought it was about bits of mirrors that make pretty patterns. I could forgive him, except for the fact that the event has been running for several years and all the posters that are around the place make it pretty clear what it is about. Every now and then Neil comes out with comments and the rest of us just look at him with despair. Even worse (or better depending on how you are looking at it!), he is a teacher… I just hope he is less vague at school!! Bless him.
