2012 Project365 (Day 212)

Sleeping Lions? It looks like a crime scene in the garden. All we need to do is get the chalk out and draw around the dead bodies. I suspect Billy is just pretending though. His eyes seem to be open!

2012 Project365 (Day 211)

QuiltHaving made two baby quilts, one for my niece and one for my nephew. Now I get to make one for my own baby. That is such a nice feeling.

I decided to go with the same pattern for the one I used to make Eden’s quilt as I love the way it looked. The only fabric that I could buy that I vaguely liked was a bunch of yellow patterns. As usual I am not massively keen yet but I am sure that it will look fabulous.

2012 Project365 (Day 210)

Camping prepIn just a few weeks (and it really can’t come soon enough!) The Mister and I will be off on holiday for a couple of weeks. We will be camping in Wales with friends, followed by Greenbelt and then a couple of days on our own in Bath.

So we decided today that we should get the ginormous tent out and check that it is still OK and there are no nasty surprises. I can’t think of anything worse than getting to our campsite and find out that there is a rip or we have forgotten the poles!

2012 Project365 (Day 209)

IssyI had to go to the airport to go and pick my cousin Stef up, and I noticed there is another of the GALP cows there. I blogged about them here. This cow is called Issy and she was painted by the pupils at Forest School.

2012 Project365 (Day 208)

KPMG Castle NightTonight I went with The Mister and my parents up to Castle Cornet for one of their KPMG sponsored Castle Nights.

For four evenings in July/August the castle opens up for free and has musical acts performing. People are welcome to bring picnics and wine and just join in the atmosphere. Tonight we saw GU10, the The Houghton Weavers and ImaginJack who are pictured here. They are a duo who sing opera. He has a spectacular moustache and they were very entertaining.

A lovely evening out, and there is one more next week. Hurray!

2012 Project365 (Day 207)

AlliumNo more sea pictures today, although we did go for a quick swim after work. It was really cold today, much chillier than yesterday, and wasn’t quite so enjoyable! It has been another beautiful day and we had a barbecue in the garden with Mum and Dad.

This allium is in Dad’s garden. I really like these flowers as they have such a structural shape. They look like lollipops stuck into the garden!

2012 Project365 (Day 206)

LunchtimeI just can’t stop with the sea pictures! Well, who could when the views are so wonderful and the weather so beautiful?

This is taken from the Rousse Kiosk where they serve up fantastic freshly made sandwiches and cake. This is where my colleague Maggie and I sat and ate our lunch. Not a bad spot eh?

It would be easy to become blase about living on such a beautiful island, but having been away and returned I find my appreciation these days is deep and true. I love sitting and watching the sea and just looking at the glorious views that can be found everywhere.

Life is pretty good these days and I am grateful.

2012 Project365 (Day 204)

Sunset swimmingIt has been the most glorious day today. Hot and sunny, and sadly I was at work. The Mister was working until 8pm and then we hot footed it down to the beach for a swim. Getting in was absolutely freezing, but once I had got over the cold it was absolutely lovely. We probably stayed in the sea for about 20 minutes.

Swimming under the most beautiful sunset is definitely one of the things that makes living in Guernsey wonderful.
