2013 Project365 (Day 59)

The LoftThis afternoon my Mum did us a massive favour and took The Little Mister out for a mammoth walk whilst The Mister and I got on with the job I have been trying to ignore.

We have a big loft and we needed to line it with plastic so that the dust stops coming in. Such a dull job but also complicated by how steep the roof is. Now we have the knack hopefully it won’t take too long though.

2013 Project365 (Day 58)

Birthday girlToday our awesome niece Eden is two years old.

She is one of the most entertaining two year olds I have ever met. She is feisty, determined and stubborn but loving, chatty and charming too and life would definitely be less splendid without her!

Eden’s parents bought her this fantastic kitchen for her birthday and The Mister and I gave her some pots and pans to go with it. The Little Mister gave her wooden vegetables. Toys like these are brilliant for creative play and I love to see kids using their imaginations in their play.

So my darling Eden, Happy Birthday. Stay amazing, feisty and determined because we love you like that!

2013 Project365 (Day 57)

Birthday fairy cakesTomorrow our gorgeous niece will be 2 years old. I can’t believe that time is flying by so fast.

My sister seems to have gone from planning a quiet party with cake to a full-blown shin-dig, so I thought I would help out by making some fairy cakes.

These are vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing (which was meant to be piped on beautifully but I didn’t have a nozzle big enough so we have gone for the ‘rustic’ look!) topped with jelly beans or Jelly Tots. They are delicious!

2013 Project365 (Day 56)

BabiesWhilst this isn’t the greatest picture in the world it is a reminder of what I did today.

This afternoon I went to a local coffee shop with a few girls who were in the same ante-natal class. The Little Mister was the only boy and was surrounded by four girls, including a set of twins. The twins and another baby were all born on the same day, 4 days after The Little Mister and the other gorgeous girly was born a couple of weeks before all of them.

It was lovely to meet up with other Mums who are going through similar experiences, and there was a lot of laughter as well as helpful conversations.

2013 Project365 (Day 55)

FamilyThe Mister was working today so The Little Mister and I went to my Mum and Dad’s for lunch.

My niece and my sister were very amused by trying to make The Little Mister laugh and he was very obliging.

I love their faces on this picture – so funny.

2013 Project365 (Day 54)

Alright Son?The battle of the bottle continues! A lot of patience and perseverance (mainly on the Mister’s part) and a Nuby bottle and teat and we seem to be getting there.

It’s especially satisfying to see The Little Mister gazing up at his Daddy. Very cute. I was lying in the bath earlier and I could hear The Mister reading him a bedtime story. Lovely!

GrandchildrenHere is my Mum with her three grandchildren – it was a lovely photo until Eden decided to try and escape!

The weather in Guernsey has been freezing today. A cold wind and a bit of sleet, horrid and definitely staying inside weather!

2013 Project365 (Day 52)

The GenerationsToday my Grandma Mary was 87 years old so The Little Mister and I popped up to wish her Happy Birthday.

She was so pleased to see him and she had a lovely cuddle with him – he was even super smiley and charming. What a boy!

2013 Project365 (Day 51)

Sleeping babiesThis is such an unflattering picture of me and yet it made me laugh.

The Mister was doing an Open University tutorial tonight and when he had finished he came into the lounge and found The Little Mister and I asleep in like this.

Apparently it took him a good few minutes to wake me up. I must be tired!

2013 Project365 (Day 50)

WelliesThis afternoon The Little Mister and I had a lovely trip to the park with my sister, her kids and one of her friends and her little boy.

Gorgeous sunny weather and Barnabas enjoyed pushing an empty dolls buggy around – especially when he found a nice big muddy puddle to give his wellies a work out! I think Barnabas looks like a model in this photo!
