2014 Project365 (Day 151)

Digging with DaddyIt has been a beautiful day today and we spent quite a bit of it in the garden planting things in the veg patch and doing some weeding.

The Little Mister has been a bit grizzly over the last few days but he was was a bit better today, especially when he was helping Daddy do the digging.

2014 Project365 (Day 150)

Mabel

Exactly a year ago we brought home two little kittens called Mabel and Lottie.

Sadly Lottie is no longer with us but Mabel is and she is lovely. Her favourite spot in the house is sitting on the window ledge in the lounge watching the world go by.

I hope that sometime soon we will be able to get another cat because I prefer to have two, but until the next baby is a bit older and we have got another hot summer out of the way, I think will will cope with just one.

2014 Project365 (Day 149)

Marathon trainingThis is my wonderful Mister after one of his training runs. He is planning on doing the Guernsey Waterfront Marathon in August, as long as I am not in labour as both events are scheduled for the same week!

He will be joining my completely insane brother-in-law who is intending on running 7 marathons in 7 days, ending up with the Guernsey Marathon. He will be raising fund for the charity This is Epic and hopefully he will make it through unscathed!

Life is so busy that my poor lovely husband is finding it hard to fit in his training runs. Not helped by having a very demanding wife though who needs him to do jobs around the house as well and especially this week as I have been really struggling physically. He has been amazing and has done loads to help and support me. He’s doing great. I love him!

2014 Project365 (Day 148)

Ancient history!

Not a photo from today obviously, and my mother-in-law is going to kill me for it! (Check out the curtains for a start!!!)

I thought I would put this picture up to compare how much The Little Mister is the spitting image of his daddy at about the same age! Love it!

Beautiful boy

I haven’t had time to take a photo today but I have so many lovely ones from the weekend it seems pointless trying to top them!

This is one of my favourites of The Little Mister, taken just before we left the zoo. He and his cousins has been running about through the the celandines in the grass. My gorgeous boy.

2014 Project365 (Day 146)

Durrell Wildlife ParkLast night was our final under canvas, and as was fairly typical we woke to torrential rain at about 5am. There is something truly nice about lying in a cosy bed listening to the rain beating down though.

We took the opportunity to go into Durrell Wildlife Park for a couple of hours before we had to go and get the boat.

We went to visit two of my favourite animals, the Western Lowland Gorillas and last year they had a little baby called Indigo. On the first day we arrived this toddler gorilla was rolling around just in front of the window looking at The Little Mister. Unfortunately The Little Mister was completely freaked out by this. Today Indigo was sitting with his Mum eating snacks and watching the people who were watching him. He was utterly charming.

We then went on to see the Sumatran Orangutans who have two little babies. They were so sweet and we watched them for ages, climbing around, tried to escape from their Mums and generally being entertaining.

I love Durrell, it is so much more than a zoo. They work specifically with endangered species and the work they undertake extends across the world. If you get the opportunity to go I would totally recommend it. The camping is expensive but wonderful and this morning we watched the lemurs being given their breakfast from the comfort of our campsite.

A wonderful weekend spent with my lovely sister and her family. Blessings abound in every way.

2014 Project365 (Day 145)

The Amaizin Adventure Park

Today we went to The Amaizin Adventure Park.

When we arrived it looked really quite shabby but there was loads of things for the kids (big and small) to do, including petting the animals, a tractor ride, pedal go-carts, a hobbit house, climbing frames, a gigantic inflatable slide and various inflatable bouncy castles and ball pools.

This photo kind of sums it up for me though and it has made me laugh every time I look at it. Everyone (bar me) went on this, but the thing that makes me laugh so much is the height that my sister got when jumping. It’s hilarious!

2014 Project365 (Day 144)

Meer cats

Once again we woke to torrential rain so after breakfast we decided to go swimming, unfortunately we (namely my sister) didn’t check the timetable and there were actually swimming lessons on so we ended up going to a soft play area, followed by swimming and ending up with lunch at Pizza Hut.

This afternoon we had a wander around the wildlife park and were treated to a special show of the two baby orangutans. They were gorgeous and so agile already.

It has been lovely having a truly chilled out day although doing so little is really quite exhausting. Bed soon I think!

2014 Project365 (Day 143)

Durrell Wildlife ParkWe had a very wet and windy night and then awoke to torrential rain. Fortunately we have Wifi so we put Ceebeebies on the iPad and stayed in bed a little longer.

We wandered into town for a bit of shopping and then waited for my sister and her family to arrive, but they were delayed for 4 hours.

I was feeling shattered so The Mister took The Little Mister into the zoo for a wander and I went back to bed for a few hours. It was bliss!

2014 Project365 (Day 142)

Glamping

Today The Mister, The Little Mister and I travelled to Jersey to go and stay in the glamping at Durrell Wildlife Park.

It is pretty wonderful. We are staying in a geodesic dome complete with wood burner and it is fully carpeted with a proper bed. We even have our own bathroom and little kitchen are just across the decking.

It is 9pm and The Little Mister is asleep in his cot and we are sitting in bed, wood burner alight, , reading and listening to the animals in the zoo. What could be better?

Oh yeah, the weather…. it has been pretty miserable today hence no pretty photos of lovely animals.

Instead this is a picture of The Little Mister snuggling up with my large pregnant belly. He quite often points at it and says ‘baby’. Whether he knows what he is talking about or not I am not sure but it is terribly cute!
