2015 Project365 (Day 90)

My house

The Little Mister remains extremely proud of his house and every time he goes outside he comments that ‘My house. Grandpa made.”

He is such a funny little boy. Trying and opinionated and developing a tremendous iron will but I totally adore him. I love it when he comes into bed in the middle of the night and snuggles up. (I love it less when he manages to find the iPad and bring it with him and I have to listen to Topsy and bloody Tim at about 6am!)

Life would certainly be less interesting if he wasn’t around!

Yum. Pussy cat!The Little Miss absolutely loves the cat and she gets really excited when they get near enough.

This is my sister’s cat, Percy who is so stupid that he got close enough for The Little Miss to grab a handful of fur.

La Sablonniere

Today The Little Miss and I took a walk to my cousin’s house and on the way we passed this little cottage.

I have no memories of living in this house but this cute little cottage was my parents’ first house and they lived there until I was about 3 (I think!)

Such a sweet little house.

2015 Project365 (Day 86)

Guernsey growingThis picture of my paternal grandpa appeared in today’s paper in article about the Guernsey growing industry.

Both my grandpas were tomato growers and Grandpa Emile also had a go at growing this rather strange tropical fruit called the Babaco. It tasted a little bit like a melon, unless it was over-ripe then it tasted very lemony!

This photo was taken in 1986 and I have vivid memories pf picking out bits of glass in between the plants after the hurricane in 1987.

Grandpa was a lovely man and was really hard-working. He also told the most terrible joke!

On the move

It is looking like we are about to have a crawler!

I reckon by the time we get back from our holiday she will be on the move.

Gill's Garden

Earlier this week I had a meeting at the school where my Mum was a teacher. I popped to see the garden that Dad had built in her memory and it truly is blooming, in every way. It was lovely to see that it is being looked after and treated with such care.

It’s 18 months today since Mum died. I miss her every day, but today I am missing her a lot.

Guernsey donkey

Some of the corridors in our local hospital have had a revamp and they have got some new pictures up.

This one is taken from a series of pictures which have both Guernsey patois and English captions.

I love it!

Friends

I took this photo last week but only found it on my phone again today.

This is The Little Mister holding hands with his friend.

It makes me smile.

2015 Project365 (Day 81)

Digging the veg patch

This afternoon The Mister got out into the garden and started digging the vegetable patch. He dug it Properly as you can see (my Dad is a stickler for such things!)

When he started slacking his mini foreman directed him to keep digging and pointed out where to dig next, as you can see from the photo!
