2015 Project365 (Day 141)

Orange flowersThe Little Mister is getting really good at naming his colours and we often practice when we are out walking by looking at the flowers in the hedgerows.

This gorgeous, vibrant, orange flower is in the hedge up the road from us and it is such a glorious colour!

2015 Project365 (Day 140)

SunshineIt ended up being quite a nice day in the end and I had to go and pick the kids up from the park today.

I walked under this gorgeous tree and the green of the trees and the bright blue skies between the leaves made me smile.

I am hoping that we see much more sunshine over the next few weeks.

2015 Project365 (Day 139)

WendlassidaLook what arrived in the post today! The details of this beautiful, but rather serious little girl, dressed in her smartest dress who is our new Compassion sponsor child.

Her name is Wendlassida, she is 5 years old and she lives in Burkina Faso and is part of the Compassion project through which we built the classrooms in honour of Mum.

The decision to sponsor another child was (slightly) tricky for us in financial terms but the reality is that the rather small sum of £25 a month will change this little girls life. The best bit is that we will can write to her, share her life, pray for her and invest in every way possible in her life.

If you have a spare £25 a month, but more than that, if you have the desire to write to a child, please consider child sponsorship through Compassion. It isn’t particularly costly, or difficult, but it could make an enormous difference.

I so look forward to getting to know this beautiful girl and I hope, so very much, that one day we will be able to meet her.

2015 Project365 (Day 138)

The dummy thiefMonday’s are always a really busy day for me as I have work and then choir in the evening so my photos are often crap today!

This is a picture my childminder sent me of my daughter, the dummy thief!

She bum-shuffled her way over to her little friend Henry, whipped his dummy off him (no matter if he is attached), plugged herself in and went to sleep. Little madam!

The John Wesley Stone

Today I walked to church with the kids and we walked down lanes that I have driven down many times but not walked down before.

I came across this big stone and crossed over the road to read what the sign above it says. It would appear that it is famous for having John Wesley standing on it!

My loves

It has been a gorgeous day here today. I went out this morning and left the kids with The Mister whilst I went and had my hair cut – it was lovely to have it done nicely, it has been a long time!!

This afternoon we spent some time in the garden painting the play house and strimming away some of the weeks.

So, just a quick picture of the three loves of my life enjoying an ice-lolly break in our garden.

2015 Project365 (Day 135)

Wave watching

Today would have been my lovely Mum’s 65th birthday. It would definitely have been a day that we would have spent together because I was off work.

Of course I miss all the important things, all the big things we did together like weddings, holidays, kid etc etc abut more than anything I miss the little quiet things. I miss walking with her, having lunch and playing Scrabble. I so often think, oh I must phone Mum and tell her that, and then I remember I can’t.

The big events like birthdays, anniversaries etc I can usually deal with because I know they are coming. It’s the little things that remind me of her that upset me most.

We went out for an early dinner with my Dad and sister and her family. I decided to walk to the restaurant with the kids and we stopped off to sit on the slipway at Vazon beach to watch the sea crashing into the sea wall at high tide. It was lovely to sit and watch the sea and feel the warmth of the sun on my face. Many blessings.

Love you Mum. Wish you were here, but I am so grateful for the fact that I had the chance to know and love you so much for so long xxx

2015 Project365 (Day 134)

Vazon sunset

This is the ultimate in thieved photos of the day.

My cousin Tim took this glorious picture of the sunset at Vazon beach. We live in the most beautiful place.

Today has been one of those days and ended up with a serious incident at work. It was all fine but I feel completely shattered tonight and I am heading to bed with my wide-awake baby!

Thanks Tim for this gorgeous picture. If you want to see more of his professional work head to www.langloisphotography.com and check out how talented he is.

Danny

This lovely fellow is one of The Little Mister’s favourite people in the whole world. This is Danny, our childminder’s husband and he also does some building and bits and bobs around the house for us.

It was his daughter’s birthday barbecue today but sadly there was no room for Dan at the big children’s table and he was relegated to the kids table. It would seem as long as he had a burger he didn’t mind too much!

Veg Patch

Over the weekend we started planting up the veg patch.

We put in broad bean plants and some sugar snap pea seeds.

The Little Mister was ably assisting me to water this afternoon. We both got quite wet to be honest!
