2015 Project365 (Day 212)

Cousins

Today has been ridiculously busy.

We are off to France on the 6.30am boat so we have to be up at the crack of dawn. I feel like I hve spent all day packing and eventually we packed the car in the dark. Typical!

My sister very kindly took the kids off my hands for a couple of hours this morning whilst I did some packing. This helped loads. What didn’t help was The Little Miss refusing to go to sleep until 10pm!

I am absolutely shattered and we have an early morning check in so goodness knows how we are going to feel by the time we get to our destination.

Our French farmhouse does not have wifi. I am still not sure how I am going to cope, but don’t worry if things are quiet. It looks like I am on an enforced internet diet!

See you in 2 weeks (unless I can source sneaky wifi from somewhere!!)

2015 Project365 (Day 211)

KittiesToday I went with the kids and my sister and her kids to check out these gorgeous little kitties. I know it isn’t a very good picture but they were so wiggly!

Two of these little beauties are going to be ours. One of the ginger ones and the tabby with tan bits on his/her face. We aren’t entirely sure what sex they are at the moment but I am picking some fashionable names for them.

The Town Sprint

Tonight The Mister and I were left in charge of four children whilst my sister and brother-in-law engaged in a running race.

This form of torture is a one mile relay race, finishing each lap with a climb up a hill. Apparently most of the people seemed to enjoy it. Very odd.

Here are the support crew waiting for the runners to appear.

2015 Project365 (Day 209)

Birthday MissToday was The Little Miss’ first birthday.

Unfortunately I had to work but this evening we went for dinner with my Dad, sister, niece and nephew and my aunt and uncle, We had a lovely meal and it was so nice to spend some time together.

I cannot believe that a whole year has past since she made a swift and early arrival into this world. She is getting really funny and her character is developing really fast. I love to see her and her brother together. They really do adore each other, even if they also batter each other around the head a bit!

She really has completed our family and I am so grateful that we we have her in our lives. I so wish my Mum was here to see her though – Mum would have absolutely adored her!

So happy birthday to my beautiful baby girl. Your sweet smiles and happy giggles have made our hearts sing. Your presence in our world has reminded us that life goes on, that we have so much to live for and that we must be grateful for every single day we have.

2015 Project365 (Day 208)

Wife carrying

In about 6 weeks my brother-in-law and his running wife will be attempting to break the world record for running on treadmills for 48 hours. They will be joined by some other amazing athletes and I am sure they will do an amazing job.

So next year they need a different challenge and I am absolutely convinced that this should be the next one. I think Philip and Warren should go for the world record for the furthest distance travelled carrying their respective wives. I think it would be fabulous to watch!

Party girlToday was this beautiful girls birthday party.

We had planned to have it in our garden. Tea, cake, prosecco and children playing nicely together. Unfortunately there was torrential rain and our garden was squelching like Glastonbury. So, we decamped to Dad’s house and had a lovely afternoon and the weather even came out!

This gorgeous girl had a wonderful time, happy sitting with Grandpa or playing with her cousins and other family members. What a blessing she is to us.

2015 Project365 (Day 206)

Birthday cake

One of my jobs today was to make The Little Miss’ birthday cake. I was going to make a bog standard sponge but decided to ice it with some flowers.

I think it turned out OK although it isn’t very 1-year-old appropriate! I am sure there is plenty of time for cakes where I have to be more creative!

Fabric heaven!

My mother-in-law brought me a bundle of fabric from the factory shop near them.

This is probably my favourite. The colours are muted and gorgeous and I think it will make an amazing pinafore for The Little Miss!

House guests

The Little Mister was desperate to show his Grandad his ‘house’.

It did make me smile to see such a tall man climbing up there and crawling through the door.

It’s good to have grandparents who get in there and play.

ShoppingIt’s amazing what you can buy at Waitrose these days!

Shopping with these two is highly entertaining if rather demanding sometimes!
