A year in pictures – Day 108

Fashion iconIt makes me laugh to see what interesting clothing combinations The Little Miss comes out with.

Here she is wearing her pyjamas with sparkly shoes, a necklace and a hair band. All accessorised with a miniature suitcase.

She carries it off I reckon.

A year in pictures – Day 107

Mum's bears

Today my wonderful sister is 39 – next year she hits the big 4-0 and life truly begins!

About three months ago my sister commented that she had seen something on Dragon’s Den a company that made memento bear’s out of a loved one’s clothing. She mentioned that she would have liked something made out of Mum’s cardigan or soemthing. I brushed it off but looked up the site she mentioned and thought the memory bears were really ugly!

I found a wonderful lady in Guernsey who made memento keepsakes and commissioned her to make a bear for my sister and a rabbit for me out of one of Mum’s cardigans. Her website is Homemade by Sue. They are wonderful. Beautifully made and perfect in every way.

Louise was so delighted and this has made me happy. Something for us to remember Mum by.

A year in pictures – Day 106

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter everyone!

We have had a lovely day. Church, followed by a lunch at my Dad’s house and the kids had an Easter egg hunt.

Today my cousin Stef and her new husband Rhys headed off to the UK before moving to New Zealand for a couple of years. We are going to miss them loads but thanks to the wonders of technology hopefully we will be able to keep up with them!

A year in pictures – Day 105

Castle explorersBusy day again today. We went out to support The Mister running in the local park run. He did well – 8th out of 181 participants which I thought was pretty good.

In the afternoon we headed up to Castle Cornet which had some local history events taking place; storytellers, re-enacters and children’s craft activity. It was really nice to wander around the castle and take a but of time to explore.

In the evening The Mister and I went out with my Dad and sister to see a local amateur dramatics production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It was brilliant and they had even managed to create a flying car. It looked as good as a West End Production. It was fab!

A year in pictures – Day 104

Car choresWe had a busy and productive day in the garden. To be honest it has been left to rack and ruin over the winter so now we are trying it back into a fit state for planting.

We cleared the veg patch, I thinned out the raspberries and dug up some raspberry canes and planted a few more.

The kids mostly played happily and even offered to clean the cars for us! Obviously, the need to be nearly naked when doing this chore is a necessity!

A year in pictures – Day 103

We are family! This afternoon we met up on the beach with my sister and the kids and with Stefi and Rhys who got married last week.

In a week’s time they are heading off to New Zealand where they will be living for a couple of years so it was lovely to spend a bit of time with them.

Of course my two children ended up naked in the sea so they were a bit chilly by the time we left!

Not amused.What a difference a day makes!

Yesterday was sunny and warm and we spent it basking in beautiful sunshine at Castle Cornet.

Today we froze our bits off on the beach before begging for a table at a local restaurant so we could warm up at lunchtime!

Friends

Today we had a fab day out to Castle Cornet with our friends Emma and her children Max and Ava.

We had a wander through some of the castle galleries and a delicious picnic in a sunny and sheltered spot within the castle walls.

We followed our cultural trip with a visit to the beach for ice-cream and then back to the house so the kids could bounce on the trampoline.

Lovely weather, a fab day out and good friends. What more could we want right now?

A year in pictures – Day 100

Family picnicWe had a lovely afternoon at a family picnic following the wedding at the weekend.

I reckon there was about 40 people there and the boys played football and the children ran about and climbed trees and we all ate cake.

It was lovely and sunny and a fab day. Here is The Little Miss walking to the playground with her Great Auntie Josie.

A year in pictures – Day 99

Messy ChurchThis morning I had to go back to the venue to help clear up some stuff. There was an amazing team and everyone did a brilliant job!

This afternoon I took the kids to Messy Church for their Easter Service. It was lovely and we had a fab time. The Little Miss was particularly pleased with her decorated Easter biscuit though!
