Auntie Knows Best

Super busy day but we started off with going to watch the Y-front run.

This is a brilliant event run by This is Epic which encourages runners to participate in a 10k run or a shorter fun run – it also then asks people to wear y-fronts whilst they do it. This year participants were encouraged to decorate their pants, and most people wore them on top of their running clothes, although there were a few who just wore pants!

This is my cousin’s wife Vicky, sporting a fantastic pair of pants which were decorated beautifully by her daughter Rosalie. She even included a tail! Great work!

Had an amazing day today.

My cousin Sam, his wife Sally and their 10 week old baby Cassian are over visiting for the weekend so we went to Herm for the day.

Herm is a rather special little island. There are no cars so you have to work everywhere and it is rather Jurassic Park looking with loads of fern edged cliff paths and loads of bees and butterflies to see.

The children were delighted to see Sam and Sally who are great fun and they were often found holding their hands as we walked along. Very lovely. We are so lucky to have such an amazing family.

Had a really lovely day down at the beach with my friend Emma and the kids.

By the time we went home the sea was heaving with surfers as it was quite windy and the surf was good. The Little Mister did scare me a bit though (and I am a little over-protective!) as he was going out quite deep into the sea and he is completely fearless. A really nice man fished him out for me just as a big wave caught him. Scary.

I had a lovely delivery today.

New knickers! I have started ordered massive granny pants (or Scrundies as they are called!).

Seriously the most comfortable pants I have ever owned and I love being able to have them in such a variety of fabulous fabric!

After a busy day at work I was feeling seriously weary but I managed to have a short walk with my sister and her dog.

A little exercise and a bit of a catch up always does me good.

I used to do a lot of sewing but over the last couple of years I really haven’t done much at all.

It’s partly because I have been busy but also I am knackered and have somewhat lost my sewing mojo.

A while ago my mother-in-law bought me some lovely fabric so I ran up this little skirt for The Little Miss. She really loves it.
