Lockdown 2.0 – Day 22

I woke early to both children who had left their tent in the bedroom because it was cold and joined us in bed. It was the most glorious sunrise.

It’s been a nice day although I was knackered and went back to bed with my book for the afternoon. I have been reading War Doctor by David Nott. Such an amazing book but it has made me sob in places.

This morning we took a short walk around L’Eree – a part of the island I don’t think we have ever walked with the children. It was a very short walk but involved us clambering across the rocks which gave us an entirely different view of the fortifications there. We found a cool rock that had been painted to look like a giant crab.

This afternoon the kids and I used some old-school jelly moulds and made fruit in jelly for their tea.

This evening The Mister and I ate a delicious Waitrose Valentine’s Meal and watched Hamilton on Disney Plus. It was much warmer to sit in front of the fire and be anti-social. It makes me happy to have someone I can sit next to and ignore in companionable silence!
