27.2

Last night I was persuaded by my friend Emma to do a charity walk. Ten and a half miles or glorious coastline, sunshine and a beautiful sunset. I was seriously mis-sold.

It pissed down with rain for about 70% of the walk and there was barely a part of me that was dry. My hips and ankles were agony and I got through the last 4 miles with co-codamol, naproxen and pink gin.

I more or less power walked the last mile when I realised that if I didn’t get a move on I wouldn’t have time to go to the chippy before we had to catch the night bus. I made it. The chips were utterly delicious.

Despite all my whinging – Emma said it was like walking with a toddler – I was pleased to have completed it. I am never doing it in the rain again though.
