Cat lover

The bond between the girl and her cat continues. Despite being bullied and dragged about Betty keeps coming back for me.

Oops

The Little Mister learnt a hard lesson today.

He learnt that this is what happens to his stack of Match Attacks cards if he leaves them in the pocket of his shorts which he then puts in the wash.

Oops.

BeaversThe Little Mister is absolutely loving Beavers and tonight they went to the park.

I love the fact that it is so different from anything else he does – I think it is good for him to do something so collaborative.

Furry beast

One of our delightful cats brought a mouse into the house a few days ago. We have been seeing it scurrying across the lounge when we haven’t been expecting it so we decided we had to move the sofa to find it.

It turns out that the little furry beast had been making a next under the sofa, After 45 minutes of moving every piece of furniture from the room The Mister managed to catch it and deposited outside far away from the house.

Beach lifeIt has been the most beautiful day. We spent the afternoon at the beach and then ended up with fish ans chips.

I am guessing we need to make the most of it as we have no idea if this weather will persist!

Erm... nice makeup

We went to my sister’s for tea and my niece decided that The Little Miss is her real-life girls world.

To be honest she looks rather more like a drag queen after a night out.

DressAs part of my recent clearing up I decided to put all the sewing stuff in the loft. I found a half completed dress I had started making for Eliza so I quick finished it off. She loves it but it definitely isn’t going to fit her for long!

Friends

I spent the evening doing some tidying up some bookshelves and found our wedding album.

I love this photo of friends who we mainly met online. It is safe to say they are all important real life people in our lives these days.

Grief management

This morning I had the day off work and took my two kids, and their friends Ava and Maxi to a local soft-play area. It was surprisingly quiet and the venue is set-up so the kids can’t escape as the doors are locked. It means I can just sit, and do the crossword and drink tea. My only deal with the kids is that they come back every now and then to tell me they are ok, still here and not bleeding or anything awful.

I was reading The Times from the weekend and there was a rather brilliant article on grief and advice on how to ‘do’ it well. Some of the advice was really good but this little quote really struck me and I thought it made a lot of sense.

Veg Patch 2019

We have had a lovely Bank Holiday although the weather hadn’t been amazing. We did manage to do a bit of planting in the veg patch though. It’s just as well we love beans – we have planted heaps of plants and I am expecting a bumper crop as long as the slugs do not get to them!
