22.1

This weekend my lovely Auntie Cath arrived for a flying visit. She is squeezing in a quick trip from Argentina before she heads to the Lambeth Conference… or what I call the Big Bish Bash.

I love this photo of her and my Dad. Two of the people I love and respect most in this world.

20.3

I love entertaining but I have been quite poor recently at inviting people over. Life is just so busy that it is easy to make excuses.

Today Auntie Josie and Uncle Howard came for lunch along with out friend Kayleigh. Even if I say so myself I cooked a pretty mean roast beef lunch with all the trimmings. I also through together this incredibly easy and very delicious Lemon Meringue Fridge Cake. It was good.

More than anything though it was lovely to catch up with Auntie Josie and spend some time together – she is looking pretty fabulous for 80 I think (don’t tell her I told you that!)

A year in pictures – Day 226

Family

As he went to bed this evening I asked The Mister what the best bit was about today.

He sleepily muttered ‘Auntie Louise picking me up from holiday club’.

She picked them up, the children played (mostly) nicely together and they had a lovely time. Thanks little sis for being a fabulous aunt.

A year in pictures – Day 225

Auntie Jen

I didn’t take any meaningful pictures at all today so here is a flashback to last Sunday.

This is my wonderful Auntie Jenny with The Little Miss. I have been hugely fortunate to have lots of amazing aunts and Auntie Jen and her twin Auntie Josie have been like additional mothers to me.

Auntie Jen has been quite poorly recently so it was so lovely that she managed to come out, and even bring one of her legendary apple pies!

A year in pictures – Day 100

Family picnicWe had a lovely afternoon at a family picnic following the wedding at the weekend.

I reckon there was about 40 people there and the boys played football and the children ran about and climbed trees and we all ate cake.

It was lovely and sunny and a fab day. Here is The Little Miss walking to the playground with her Great Auntie Josie.

2016 Project366 (Day 331)

Charity sale

My Auntie Jenny is a brilliant cook and she makes fantastic chutnies, jams and cakes. Today I went to give her a hand at a sale she was doing to raise funds for the Centre for Cancer Immunology in Southampton.

Her stall looked lovely and she had made a load of beautiful Christmas gift baskets which sold really well.

I have to admit that I love a bit of selling. I feel it triggers my inner Apprentice candidate!

2015 Project365 (Day 230)

Wonderful auntsToday I have totally cheated as this isn’t even my photo. I didn’t take any today.

This is a photo of my twin aunts, Auntie Jenny and Auntie Josie. They took a day trip to Sark today to see the lady who looked after them when they little. Sark at the time was under German Occupation and my grandma worked on the island as a nurse. This house was where they were born.

I love these two wonderful women so much. They have been amazing my whole life, in fact they have been like two wonderful additional Mums. Since Mum died they have very much helped and supported me and my sister and they have been like Mums to us.

Thankyou Auntie Jenny, and Auntie Josie. I love you both very much. Thanks for everything.

PS) I am still going to beat you both in the Sweet Cake competition in the North Show xxxx

2015 Project365 (Day 18)

Birthday wishesTomorrow my Auntie Sandra and Uncle Peter will be 70 years young, so as is fitting we had a family gathering with cake.

After Mum died Auntie Sandra and Uncle Peter were so supportive, emotionally but also practically by helping us with childcare.

Happy birthday. We love you both xxx

2014 Project365 (Day 272)

Park lifeToday has been another gorgeous day.

This afternoon we took a walk to our local park and met up with Auntie Josie for a wander, a coffee and a gossip.

The kids had a lovely time on the swings!

2014 Project365 (Day 224)

Awesome auntI haven’t taken any pictures at all today – how very slack of me!

So, I trawled back through the last couple of weeks of pictures and found this gorgeous one of my sister and The Little Miss on the day they met.

I love it, my sister is so proud of her niece and I am so grateful for her input, love and support over the last few weeks. She is a spectacular sister and an amazing aunt!
