Birthday girl

Today our gorgeous niece was 8! I had the excitement of picking up 6 kids from school in my fancy van and Eden’t request was to listen to The Greatest Showman on CD. So of course we did and we sang loudly… all except Maxi who stuck his fingers in his ears.

Happy birthday Eden Pie. We love you x

5 January 2019

Dad's birthdayThe old man is getting older and today he turned 71 – looking good for his age I reckon! We even managed to drag him out to the beach for a short walk which was a result.

Seriously though, I am hugely grateful for all the time we get to spend together, for his influence in and on our lives and the fact that our children get to spend time with him. The Little Miss really dressed to impress for this beach walk!

This evening my sister and I went for a nice meal with Dad at a local pub. It was lovely to have a catch-up without any children bothering us!

Happy Birthday Dad. We love you x

Day 357

Birthday

Today is my birthday. I have had a lovely day; church followed by lunch at a restaurant and mince-pies and tea at my cousins house with the rest of the family.

Quiet and relaxed and I am very grateful for my lovely family and friends who are around me.

Day 348

Birthday boyToday my beautiful boy hit the grand age of 6.

He is the most wonderful boy, amusing, obsessed with Pokemon and hilarious. I am so proud of him in the way he has come on at school with his drawing, writing and reading and the fact he is popular and has lots of friends.

Always happy to give cuddles, it can be frustrating when I wake up to find he has snuck into bed with us, but an early morning snuggle is something to be treasured.

We love you Bear, keep being you and keep being wonderful.

A year in pictures – Day 348

Birthday boyHow amazing that this gorgeous boy of 5 today!

It feels like in the last couple of months he has changed loads. Since starting school it is like he is a human sponge, soaking up so many facts and skills. It’s awesome to see how quickly he is learning and developing. It’s just so exciting.

He is wonderful feisty and funny little creature but he is also such hard work at times. Super stubborn and very stroppy when he is tired. He is definitely giving us a run for our money.

Little Mister, I love you. You have been a game changer for my life and I adore you x

A year in pictures – Day 5

Birthday boyToday is my lovely Dad’s birthday.

He came for tea and we sang him Happy Birthday. The cake was quite bijou and not big enough for all 69 candles so we managed with just 5!

Happy birthday Dad. Thanks for all you do and who you are x

2016 Project366 (Day 358)

Birthday walk

I have had the most brilliant birthday today – I think I enjoyed it even more than the big 4-0 last year maybe it was less of a big deal so it just felt lovely.

It has been the most beautiful day so this morning I walked to the beach and met my sister and cousin and the kids down there. We spend a good couple of hours walking the dog and the kids spent ages playing on the sand and jumping and rolling around. We then met my Dad for lunch at the local pub.

This evening The Mister and I went on the bus into town with my cousin Beccy and he husband Pierre to see my cousins band Clameur de Haro play. It was a fab night out and we even experienced the entertainment of the night bus home.

Thankyou for all your gifts, cards and best wishes. It has been a fabulous day!

2015 Project365 (Day 357)

Birthday girl

Today I reached the grand old age of 40. The date has been on the horizon for an entire year but to be honest I have been feeling fairly philosophical about it all!

I went out for lunch with my sister and her kids, and my Dad and The Mister and the kids and then I went and had my hair cut. It was fab to have a little bit of time to myself.

In the evening I had a party. I felt a bit like a drama queen insisting on having a party, especially as it is so close to Christmas but it was awesome to see so many people and to get the chance to catch up.

Of course the one person I wish could have been there is my Mum. 40 years ago today she brought me into the world and I would have loved her to be there to celebrate it me. Such is life though. I wore her locket so she was there in some way.

A massive thankyou to The Mister, my sister and my Dad for organising my party. It was fab and I appreciated it so much.

Such an awesome day and thanks to everyone who helped me to celebrate.

2015 Project365 (Day 345)

Birthday cake

So, this is my attempt this year at a birthday cake for The Little Mister.

It’s certainly a rather mediocre attempt and next time I make one of these I will used ready rolled icing!

I hope he likes it though as his party is tomorrow! Can you guess what the theme is?

2015 Project365 (Day 209)

Birthday MissToday was The Little Miss’ first birthday.

Unfortunately I had to work but this evening we went for dinner with my Dad, sister, niece and nephew and my aunt and uncle, We had a lovely meal and it was so nice to spend some time together.

I cannot believe that a whole year has past since she made a swift and early arrival into this world. She is getting really funny and her character is developing really fast. I love to see her and her brother together. They really do adore each other, even if they also batter each other around the head a bit!

She really has completed our family and I am so grateful that we we have her in our lives. I so wish my Mum was here to see her though – Mum would have absolutely adored her!

So happy birthday to my beautiful baby girl. Your sweet smiles and happy giggles have made our hearts sing. Your presence in our world has reminded us that life goes on, that we have so much to live for and that we must be grateful for every single day we have.
