A year in pictures – Day 269

Choir golf

Last I night I went out with choir for a nice meal out after a bunch of rehearsals and concerts. It was good to relax!

We had a fab dinner but this was preceded by a quick game of crazy gold. We were rubbish but it was fun.

2015 Project365 (Day 341)

Homeward boundIt was a really early start today as we left the hostel at 7am.

We flew from a little airport at Memingen and then to London Stansted and finally arrived back in Guernsey at about 3.30ish.

Now I am knackered and heading for bed but it was an amazing trip. I should also give some credit too to my awesome husband who held the fort and looked after the kids so well. Thanks Mister. I love you.

2015 Project365 (Day 340)

The Christmas Mystery

Another picture from the Christmas market. Right in the centre is this lovely nativity scene.

It looks like it is carved out of wood and it is really big. Around the outside of the central figures are real sheep and a donkey. Such a gorgeous reminder of why we celebrate Christmas.

This evening we sang in the church in the centre of Biberach. It is the most beautiful painted Baroque building and has staggeringly gorgeous decoration. It was also absolutely freezing and we were up and down singing. The service was also a Catholic mass in German. We had no idea what was going on so we were glad to get back to the hostel for a few drinks on our final night.

Such an amazing trip with a bunch of awesome girls (and a few blokes who tagged along for the ride). Thanks for a great weekend.

2015 Project365 (Day 339)

Biberach Christkindlesmarkt

Today we walked into Biberach town where we were able to have a wander around the Biberach Christkindlesmarkt or the Christmas market. It was lovely and did a bit of shopping and drank (quite) a bit of delicious gluhwein.

It is also St Nicholas day so we were able to see him arrive on his horse and cart, dressed like a bishop and give out what looked like a pastry mouse to the children.

In the evening we sang in the market. It was fab but absolutely freezing! Such a brilliant day.

2015 Project365 (Day 338)

Biberach hostelThe weekend has arrived and I am off on a choir trip to Biberach in Germany to sing in the Christmas market.

I have no idea where exactly in Germany Biberach is because I basically didn’t have to do anything thinking this weekend. I just had to turn up at the airport at the right time with my bag packed and then other people directed me to where I had to go.

We are staying in the youth hostel which sounds a bit grim but it is spotlessly clean and lovely and warm and we are more or less the only people here.

Marvellous. Shame there isn’t any snow though!

2015 Project365 (Day 336)

Bel Canto

This article featured in today’s paper. On Friday I am heading off with the choir for a singing trip to Biberach in Guernsey.

Eighteen women without their husbands and children. What could possible go wrong?

I am really looking forward to it, although really quite anxious about leaving The Mister and the kids. I know they will be fine but it is the first time I have been away without them!

2015 Project365 (Day 271)

TherapyMonday evenings is my choir night. Even though I am inevitably knackered and things are generally a rush I love going out singing for a bit.

This is ridiculous though! A new piece in 8 parts?! Must be something for the Eisteddfod I suspect!

2015 Project365 (Day 199)

Morris Minor

Today I sang at a wedding with the choir. It was a fab wedding, and especially nice as it is one of the social workers I know.

Rather than putting up a picture of the bride though, I have picked this glorious car! It’s fabulous!

If I had a dream car, it would be a Morris Minor!!

2015 Project365 (Day 149)

Two choirs

Tonight I was singing with the choir, Bel Canto, at a concert at one of the local churches. We were joined by a very good choir from Southall Minster.

It was a good concert and I saw two of my old Headmasters, one from primary and one from secondary. They seemed to both think I was a bit naughty at school! Surely not.

2015 Project365 (Day 38)

Bel Canto bumps

Today we had a choir concert at a residential/nursing home as one of the girls’ grandmother lives there. They were a very appreciative audience, and it was really sweet to see some of the old ladies mouthing the words as we were singing. My friend Emma nearly fell over though when one old girl popped out both sets of dentures!

At any point in choir we seem to have at least one person who is pregnant, at the moment we have 4! So, here is a picture of the three most pregnant ones in our gorgeous pink t-shirts. Unfortunately I always felt like Mr Greedy when I was pregnant and wearing this top.

Looking good girls!
