Day 148

Dad's garden centreWe have quite a big garden and it is a constant battle to keep it looking ok. In contrast my Dad has the most immaculate garden. He spends a lot of money and hundreds of hours weeding and tidying. He also is growing a lot of plants ready to pot up, so I went to visit to see what I could scrounge for my tubs and pots!

Day 5

Dad's 70thToday my amazing Dad hit the ripe old age of 70 – I still think he is looking pretty young!

We had a little party for him. These days it feels like we should seize every opportunity to spend time together and celebrate the good things.

We had a fantastic night out at a local restaurant who could not have helped us more. Completely amazing…. and this fabulous cake topped off the evening.

So Dad, Happy birthday. You are truly an inspiration and we all love you very much… now onto Uganda for a trip with him and my sister to check out some This is Epic Charity projects. Amazing!

A year in pictures – Day 310

Car thief

Our morning started a little unexpectedly when the car didn’t start.

Fortunately Dad is still on holiday in Australia so we popped to his place and stole his car for a few days.

It’s a snazzy little Fiat 500 and I love driving it! The kids call it Grandpa’s Magic Car because the roof opens.

A year in pictures – Day 290

On holiday - again! My Dad is on holiday in Australia with my aunt and uncle.

They seem to be having a fab time but I am missing the old man.

We managed to catch up on FaceTime for a short time but the connection was a bit ropey.

A year in pictures – Day 5

Birthday boyToday is my lovely Dad’s birthday.

He came for tea and we sang him Happy Birthday. The cake was quite bijou and not big enough for all 69 candles so we managed with just 5!

Happy birthday Dad. Thanks for all you do and who you are x

2016 Project366 (Day 171)

19 June 2016Today is Father’s Day and this is my lovely Dad and the children.

I am so grateful to Dad for everything he does. He is so consistent and calm and there is so much about him that I appreciate.

It makes me smile such a lot to see how much the children adore him. They ask after him a lot although to be fair The Little Mister just wants to play on his iPad!

Since Mum died my relatiuonship with Dad has changed so much. I never through that out relationship could be so close and I value him every day. Thanks Dad for all that you do. I love you x

2016 Project366 (Day 153)

Dad

I love going on holiday but I have terrible anxiety about it.

My panics definitely started after Mum died on holiday and then Dad was really poorly for our next holiday and ended up in hospital. I guess my anxieties are justified although they feel quite over-reactive.

Anyway, we are due to go on holiday on Friday with my Dad and today he ended up at A&E with a lung infection and shallow breathing. He has been admitted to hospital overnight for IV antibiotics and I hope that he will be fine.

Things never feel easy! I just want a nice holiday without too much stress please!

2016 Project366 (Day 5)

Dad

Another photo flashback for today. I love this picture of my Dad and our Compassion sponsor child, Wendlassida who lives in Burkina Faso.

Today is my lovely Dad’s birthday and we went out for tea to a local restaurant.

Dad, I love you so very much. You have been an amazing, supportive father and I am hugely grateful for all you do for us. Thank you for also being an awesome Grandpa. Our children adore you and I love to see how much their faces light up when you walk through the door.

Happy birthday xxxx
