7.2

The poor old girl is limping today and she has an impressive bruise on her hip – hopefully she hasn’t done any serious damage!

After an excellent breakfast we had a drive around the South-East coast of Jersey and then headed to the beach for a couple of hours and lunch at a cafe. We then went to our cousin Sam and Sally’s house for a cuppa before heading to the airport.

A couple of gins at the airport and home. What a brilliant weekend and such a lovely opportunity to spend proper time with my sister. She;s a star. Completely unhinged but a complete star!

2014 Project365 (Day 145)

The Amaizin Adventure Park

Today we went to The Amaizin Adventure Park.

When we arrived it looked really quite shabby but there was loads of things for the kids (big and small) to do, including petting the animals, a tractor ride, pedal go-carts, a hobbit house, climbing frames, a gigantic inflatable slide and various inflatable bouncy castles and ball pools.

This photo kind of sums it up for me though and it has made me laugh every time I look at it. Everyone (bar me) went on this, but the thing that makes me laugh so much is the height that my sister got when jumping. It’s hilarious!

2014 Project365 (Day 143)

Durrell Wildlife ParkWe had a very wet and windy night and then awoke to torrential rain. Fortunately we have Wifi so we put Ceebeebies on the iPad and stayed in bed a little longer.

We wandered into town for a bit of shopping and then waited for my sister and her family to arrive, but they were delayed for 4 hours.

I was feeling shattered so The Mister took The Little Mister into the zoo for a wander and I went back to bed for a few hours. It was bliss!

2013 Project365 (Day 296)

BadongoI haven’t taken any photos today so here is one from our trip to Jersey Zoo.

This handsome fellow is Badongo and and he has three girlfriends and one baby. No wonder he looks so sure of himself.

2013 Project365 (Day 144)

24 May 01324 May 2013 – Today we went over to Elizabeth Castle. It should have been a lovely trip but the weather was horrid and the wind was bitter and so strong. I had The Little Mister in the sling but he was not impressed at all by the wind catching his face.

At 12pm there was a talk by this gentleman about the role of the Castle and it’s historical inhabitants. He also got all the men out on parade – The Mister was hiding inside with The Little Mister at this point.

This is our last day in Jersey, and we have had a brilliant holiday. I will look forward to going home tomorrow – partly because we are hopefully getting kittens in the next couple of weeks!

2013 Project365 (Day 143)

Jersey cliffs23 May 2013 – Today the weather has been beautifully sunny but rather cold and windy.

This morning we went to visit a steam museum (a little dull but The Mister and his Dad enjoyed it!) and we went on a steam train.

In the afternoon we had lunch at The Old Portelet Inn, great food as always, and The Misterl and his parents went for a wander around the German bunkers up at Portelet whilst The Little MIster and I had a little nap in the car.

This is one of the gorgeous views from the cliffs. Jersey really is very beautiful.

Jersey cow20 May 2013 – The weather has been dreary and wet again today. So this morning we went to visit the jersey Museum in St Helier. It was nicely laid out and genuinely interesting.

This is a Jersey Cow. Pretty isn’t she? She was also dead and stuffed in the museum!

2013 Project365 (Day 138)

Waiting for the boat 18 May 2013 – Today The Mister, The Little Mister and I caught the boat to Jersey to spend a week on holiday. The inlaws have met us there so we can spend some time together.

It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm and we had a lovely trip there.

The cottage we are staying in is gorgeous and has pretty much everything we need. Unfortunately it is nearly 9.30pm and The Little Mister is still wide awake!

2012 Project365 (Day 149)

Joey!!!Today I had to go to Jersey to visit the rehab. It was such a beautiful day again. Hot and sunny, the perfect day to catch a flight over to our neighbours.

I flew on a Trislander which is 15 seater plane with one captain and in Guernsey we call them ‘flying coffins’. Having said that, the view was absolutely beautiful and the islands practically sparkled beneath the plane.

On my return flight I was absolutely delighted to be able to fly on Joey. I slightly embarrassed myself as I literally gasped as I walked out of the airport terminal, unfortunately the rest of the passengers were men in suits who seemed rather nonplussed by the excitement of flying on Joey!

2012 Project365 (Day 77)

La Corbière LighthouseToday The Mister and I left the hotel (we stayed at The Inn if anyone wants to know and it was really nice) and went for a long drive, stopping off at whatever we fancied on the way. We went to the Jersey Eisteddfod Arts and Crafts exhibition and we also went to visit one of the restored German bunkers (Batterie Lothringen), rather conveniently we were the only people there so had a private tour around it.

Our drive continued with a lunch stop at the Old Portelet Inn. I have to confess that after this I had to stop for a little nap because I was so tired. Fully restored we paid a very quick visit to La Corbière lighthouse. Unfortunately it started raining so just a chance of a quick snap before going to get the boat home.

We have had a brilliant few days and there is just so much to see in Jersey, however, quite a lot of the stuff isn’t open this early in the year. Looks like we will have to go back again when more of the attractions are open!
