The veg patch has really got going and this morning I harvested our first lettuce and had some for lunch. It was so fresh and delicious.

Veg Patch 2019

We have had a lovely Bank Holiday although the weather hadn’t been amazing. We did manage to do a bit of planting in the veg patch though. It’s just as well we love beans – we have planted heaps of plants and I am expecting a bumper crop as long as the slugs do not get to them!

Day 240

Healthy food

The veg patch continues to produce plenty of picking for us.

It might not be the most beautiful looking garden, or the tidiest, but it is giving us plenty of tasty things to eat.

Day 196

Potato harvest

Our potato harvest has been pretty healthy this year.

They taste absolutely delicious, especially when covered in yummy Guernsey butter!

Day 163

Strawberry bed

It looks like our strawberry bed is going to be exceptionally fruitful this year. I guess I need to perfect my jam making techniques.

I reckon our strawberry patch is going to be extremely productive this year. Heaps of flowers and the fruits are already growing.

Not a bad haul of potatoes.

The garden is feeding us well at the moment.

A year in pictures – Day 176

Potato treasuresWe had a busy afternoon in the garden and The Mister and the kids emptied out all the bags of potatoes.

We did pretty well and managed to get a trug about 2/3 full.

The children really enjoy digging through the soil to see what treasures they can find!

2016 Project366 (Day 259)

Tomato mountain

The sign that Dad has been for tea.

A mountain of tomatoes and bendy cucumbers left out on the side.

Now, what to do with them?!!
