A year in pictures – Day 315

Christmas craft

The weather today has been pretty rubbish and the kids have been going stir crazy indoors.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered some craft stuff from a company called Baker Ross. We sat down together to make some Christmas cards and The Little Miss absolutely loved it but The Little Mister has the attention span of a cabbage!

Anyway, we managed to do some crafting and it was nice to sit and do something together.

A year in pictures – Day 213

Swishy skirt

I used to do a lot of sewing but over the last couple of years I really haven’t done much at all.

It’s partly because I have been busy but also I am knackered and have somewhat lost my sewing mojo.

A while ago my mother-in-law bought me some lovely fabric so I ran up this little skirt for The Little Miss. She really loves it.

2016 Project366 (Day 363)

True love

Today I went to buy some wool suitable for crochet as I was given a couple of ‘how to’ books for Christmas.

When we got home The Little Miss disappeared off into her room and shut the door, I should have known she was up to no good then! When I went in she had taken off all of the labels of all of the balls of wool and she had completely unravelled two of them into a heap on the floor.

This is true love, my lovely husband (ably assisted by Spiderman) unravelling the naughty Little Miss’s handiwork!

2016 Project366 (Day 336)

Mum's Advent CalendarI went to a craft sale a couple of week’s ago at my Mum’s church and I bought this gorgeous advent calendar.

I was admiring in when the girl on the stall told me that my Mum had actually made it. Cordelia had bought it off her a few years ago, but never really used it.

I had to buy it. It seems right that it came home with me for the children to enjoy. Thanks Mum. I love it!

2015 Project365 (Day 205)

Fabric heaven!

My mother-in-law brought me a bundle of fabric from the factory shop near them.

This is probably my favourite. The colours are muted and gorgeous and I think it will make an amazing pinafore for The Little Miss!

2015 Project365 (Day 202)

Fairyland CloaksWe now have about 10 days before we go on holiday and I have so much to do before we go.

I have a huge list and I am gradually working through it bit by bit and today I managed to cross this job after my list.

Here are two wizard cloaks ready for Fairyland. I am pretty happy how they turned out!

2015 Project365 (Day 191)

WizardyTonight I have been making wizard cloaks.

They are mostly going well but I have remembered what a bitch satin lining is to sew, but even more so what bitch it is if you haven’t quite cut is accurately!

I think I am getting there though. It’s just one of the many things I have to finish off before I go on holiday.

Nearly there!

2015 Project365 (Day 183)

Incredible hatsMy sister’s neighbour is an incredibly talented milliner and last night she was opening her new exhibition at a local jewellers.

The hats were just fantastic and so creative and this little top hat was one of my favourites!

The champagne was nice too!

2015 Project365 (Day 174)

Sewing peace

I used to love sewing and I would happily spend many hours engaging in this hobby. Unfortunately I know have children and half my evening seems to be taken up with housework, tidying and general other stuff.

However, I have been making some wizard cloaks for a friend so I have spent a happy couple of hours trying my level best to work out the pattern. I think I am getting there now!

I wish I had a bit more time to get on with it though!
