A year in pictures – Day 30

Sleeping beauty

Yesterday we put The Little Miss into a big girls bed yesterday.

She slept like a dream last night. Went to bed at 6.45 and woke up 12 hours later.

Unfortunately this evening I got home from choir at 9pm to find she was still awake. Little money.

A year in pictures – Day 29

Birthday boyToday is my wonderful husband’s birthday.

We had a leisurely breakfast before going pick the kids up and then The Mister put together The Little Miss’ new bed. The children were a nightmare this afternoon though – tired and fractious and the weather was too awful to go out!

I love this photo of The Mister and the kids. He is a wonderful husband and a truly brilliant Daddy and we are all love him very much.

A year in pictures – Day 28

The MisterToday The Mister and I dropped the kids at my sister’s house and then we went and stayed overnight at a lovely local hotel.

It was absolute bliss to have a few hours to relax, read the paper, go for a walk and then go out for some excellent cocktails and a nice dinner in the evening.

It seems that we spend such a lot of time being parents that we have very little time to be husband and wife. It was delightful to have time to talk and relax. Much needed.

A year in pictures – Day 27

FamilyMy little cousin Stefi is back until her wedding n April. She is The Little Miss’ god-mother so I hope we get the chance to spend quite a bit of time with her as after the wedding she and her husband are moving to New Zealand for a couple of years.

She came with me to pick up The Little Mister from pre-school. As expected The Little Miss only wanted to hold her hand and not mine!

A year in pictures – Day 26

Wedding suitThe Little Mister can be rather stroppy when being asked to do things he doesn’t want to do.

He has this fabulous little Monsoon suit to wear for Stef’s wedding and I managed to persuade him to try it on, but only with using bribery.

He will look super cute – if I can persuade him to wear it on the day! His big cousin has one to match so we might be OK!

Waitrose shoppingShopping is always more complicated with two children in two but they enjoyed sitting in the bottom of one of the big trollies together.

Little monkeys.

T-bars

I have just had these lovely Red or Dead shoes delivered from Schuh. I love t-bar shoes and the totally remind me of the ones I used to wear when I was a little girl.

The other thing they made me think of was just how much my sister was going to hate them!

A year in pictures – Day 23

Choir birthdayToday was a special evening at choir. Our choir conductor Christine is 70 this week and we decided to throw her a surprise party.

She had absolutely no idea about it and for the first and only time I saw her lost for words. It was deeply satisfying!

A year in pictures – Day 22

22 January 2017Went to church today and cooked a delicious roast beef dinner and went for a walk. I have just felt weary all day though, a bit like I am swimming through treacle. I wonder if I am coming down with something.

Whilst I was cooking tea I could hear The Little Miss out in the utility room talking to her ‘baby’ and tucking her baby up in the buggy whilst rocking it. Of course her baby is a rather large cat called Eric and he is more than happy for a bit of TLC. Very cute though.

Guernsey Park Run

The Mister was out running the local Park Run this morning. He did really well, out of 113 people he came 18th, and then he ran home. He is training for Manchester Marathon which he will be running in April in aid of This is Epic.

It is such a beautiful spot for a Park Run. Can’t be much better I think.
