BecomingI know I have already posted a pic of this book but I have now finished it.

It really is one of the best autobiography that I have ever read. I rather loved Michelle and Barack Obama before I read this but now I really admire them, their values and all they have set out to achieve. I loved to see how she wrote about her husband and how much she obviously loves him.

As much as this book gave me hope it also made me realise what a giant asshole the current POTUS is. How on earth could the American voters get is so wrong… then I look at the UK and their massive Brexit balls up and I realise Americans aren’t the only idiots out there.

BecomingThis book was one of my Christmas presents from The Mister.

It is such a brilliant read and I think Michelle Obama is totally inspiring as well as being really humble and nice. It’s an unusual mix for someone who is such high profile. Well worth a read.

A year in pictures – Day 362

Paper Dolls

The Little Miss loves the book called Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson.

Today she was desperate for me to make her some paper dolls like in the book which she then decorated.

2016 Project366 (Day 275)

I Am PilgrimI started this book whilst in Greece and I could not put it down!

It is a thriller and one of the best written books I have read for a while. The story-line is about international terrorism and Muslim extremists as well as biological warfare.

Whilst is may be fiction it is plausible enough to be real which meant I regularly shuddered whilst reading it!

Great read if you like this genre of fiction.

2015 Project365 (Day 301)

Northern YouthWe are starting to clear out our offices at work ready for a big move to the new build at the hospital.

I have no idea how long CDAT has lived in this building, 20 years maybe?, but it certainly feels like it.

There are loads of books that I am sure would have been very forward thinking in their time but now they are just archaic.

This one made me laugh. I think it was printed in 1967. I think I know a few of those dodgy drinking Northern young people.

2014 Project365 (Day 335)

TAdvent Bookshis is our Advent book box; 24 Christmas books wrapped up and ready for The Little Mister to open one each day and read before bedtime.

We love books and The Little Mister is also a fan. He really enjoys sitting and reading with his Daddy before bedtime and he has his favourites, especially The Gruffalo and other Julia Donaldson books.

He may still be a bit small to fully enjoy his Advent books but I hope it may be one of our new Christmas traditions.

2014 Project365 (Day 286)

The Snail and the Whale

The Snail and the Whale is currently The Little Mister’s favourite book. It is written by Julia Donaldson who also wrote The Gruffalo.

The Mister has read this so many times that he can now recite or word for word. For some reason The Little Mister calls snails ‘nannies’ which always make me smile. We still have no idea why he calls them this though!

2014 Project365 (Day 62)

BookwormsThis is a bit of an emergency snap.

I am completely knackered with a sore throat, headache and chills. I am heading to bed any minute.

So, a quick pic of one of the things I gave to The Mister for Christmas. It seemed to sum him up quite nicely.

2014 Project365 (Day 38)

Goodnight TeddyMy father-in-law bought The Little Mister this wonderful cloth book called Goodnight Teddy.

He and his Daddy read it most nights before he goes to bed and The Little Mister ‘helps’ the toy teddy drink his milk and then tucks him up in bed. So cute!
