Greenbelt friendsOh it is always such a sad day when we get to the last day of Greenbelt. It is my favourite weekend of the year and I will miss these guys so much.

These are friends who I met online. We have grown together, been to each other’s weddings and seen our children grow up.

We might not meet very often, not even every year, but when we get together it is like nothing has ever changed.

It’s wonderful.

Barbecue

A chilly wind on the beach turned into a barbecue in the garden. Happy kids and happy parents. A great day out.

Friends

The Mister is away in the UK so the kids and I went to Emma’s house for tea with some friends.

We fed the kids pasta and ice-creams earlier in the evening and then they engaged in a bit of communal bathing before putting PJs on and watching a film with popcorn.

The grown-ups were then left to eat quite a civilized meal together. Fabulous evening.

Friends

I spent the evening doing some tidying up some bookshelves and found our wedding album.

I love this photo of friends who we mainly met online. It is safe to say they are all important real life people in our lives these days.

Team Collymochon Day 13 – Gatwick to Guernsey

80This is it – the final flight to Guernsey.

We had an absolutely phenomenal holiday with good friends and their children. Everyone got on well, barring a few arguments between the kids, and it was such a pleasure to spend time together.

We are fortunate to be able to enjoy amazing holidays and to have the opportunity to do this with friends who make an enormous difference to our lives.

Thankyou Worthingtons for sharing our holiday. This photo of the stats was nicked from Emma’s travel journal. We travelled a long way together and it was really worth it.

So, when is the next trip Team Collymochon?

Pre-dinner drinks

The Mister and I went out for dinner tonight which was lovely. Nice to have a bit of time to catch up with each other – even if we did spend half the night looking at photos of a cat in a cage as we thought someone had managed to trap Eric. sadly it wasn’t him.

We met up with Emma and Martin for pre-dinner drinks. Fab. Can’t wait until our holiday now.

2nd wife

It’s good to see that The Mister is being well looked after by his other wife.

This made me smile. I even delivered it.

Surrogate grandparents

Went to church this morning and I was singing so I accosted an old couple to look after the kids during the service…. actually it was my friends parents and they were more than happy to help!

What made me smile most was when my friend Emma arrived with her two children and they all piled in the same row of chairs together. It’s good to have surrogate family when we need them most! I hope they need us too.

Moody day

Today I was tired, tearful and slightly hungover.

I struggled all day and The Little Mister has been incredibly difficult. He has been rude and oppositional and just hard to manage and I have struggled because I am not at top of my game.

I cried in church, cried in the car and cried at home.

My friend Emma asked me and the kids out for a walk around the headland. It was just what I needed; blustery and blowy and a bit of a reflection of my mood but I felt much better when I returned.

I am very grateful for friends who hold me up when I am feeling down and who will walk alongside me when I am struggling.
