2016 Project366 (Day 213)

A Perfect Sunday

Today has been the most gorgeous day.

We sacked church off and went to Vazon beach and met up with friends, had a picnic lunch there and The Little Mister played with his new body board. We then headed up to one of Floral Guernsey’s Open Garden – it was absolutely gorgeous and the garden had fantastic views. The Little Miss enjoyed the animal statues that were on the top lawn, and the 5 month old golden retriever puppies who were very strokeable.

We ended the perfect day with fish and chips at Cobo beach at high tide. Life does not get much better than this.

Babouins du TorevalToday we went to the Torteval Scarecrow Festival.

As usual there were some fantastic entries, at least one Donald Trump and two Boris Johnson’s this year.

There were also numerous tributes to the recently deceased rock and pop stars including Lemmy from Motorhead, a Prince and a few David Bowie’s. This was probably my favourite one.

2016 Project366 (Day 211)

29 July 2016Today we had a little birthday party for The Little Miss. Fortunately the weather held up and we were able to go out in the garden whilst the children ran amok, playing in the playhouse and the swings. It was lovely that so many of our friends were able to attend.

The Little Miss was especially pleased with this umbrella and the little suitcase containing a Peppa Pig tea set.

Thankyou to all who helped us celebrate her birthday. We really appreciated all her gifts as well as your company.

2016 Project366 (Day 210)

Birthday girlI can’t believe that The Little Miss is two today.

The last year has flown by so fast and she has changed so much. I still can’t get over how quickly the language is coming now have sentences and more abstract concepts and she certainly is able to get over how she is feeling.

She makes me so cross because she is hugely stubborn (wonder where she gets that from!) and going to bed is something of a battle ground.

She also makes me laugh so much. Her relationship with her brother is just beautiful although they fight often and these fights are becoming much more of an even match!

She loves her family and adores her pussy cats and I love hearing her singing away to herself or catching her reading her books.

She has brought so much joy to our lives.

Happy birthday sweet girl. We love you. Keep smiling and singing x

2016 Project366 (Day 209)

27 July 2016We have two bed thieves.

This is how we woke up this morning, clinging to the edges of the bed with these two asleep in the middle.

Beautiful!

Happiness

We are so fortunate to have a wonderful childminder. I love working but still get the usual guilty feeling that I should be at home looking after the kids.

Fortunately the kids love being with Jane and her daughter Zoe when she isn’t at school. When I went and picked them up today they were running up and down the garden with Zoe and her friends and begging for swings. Lovely.

Chitney

The garden is being fruitful and now I am being creative and working out what to do with all our lovely produce.

This is the first time I have made chutney and this one was tomato and chilli. It has a real kick to it and seems a little runny but not bad for a first time!

2016 Project366 (Day 206)

Sibling loveThis afternoon we walked to one of the Floral Guernsey open garden’s. It was at a gorgeous property called the Haye du Puits.

To say I have garden envy is an understatement. It was absolutely beautiful and the house was pretty enviable too!

What made me smile though was to see the children holding hands. Of course the minute The Little Mister saw me get the camera out he refused to hold her hand!

Herm IslandIt has been the most beautiful day again and we took a trip to the beautiful island of Herm with our friend Emma and her two children.

We went over the Belvoir Bay and spent a blissful few hours chilling out, swimming in the very cold sea and The Mister and the children went exploring the rocks.

I am so grateful to live in this beautiful place. A lovely say out, with good friends. What more could we want?!

2016 Project366 (Day 204)

Harbour Carnival

This evening we went into town for the harbour carnival. It was a perfect evening, warm and sunny and still utterly gorgeous.

There were loads of people in time and we watched the Ladies Dingy Racing and some of the paddle board racing. We also went on the Lifeboat which was much bigger than I thought it would be.

I love these sorts of events in Guernsey. Typically local but really social and fun. Well done organisers, it was great fun.
