Lockdown Day 68

Another great day. This morning was spent doing chores and The Mister sweated it out on a long run. We headed to the beach for lunch and met my niece and sister and then I walked home and I managed to complete my challenge of walking 75 miles in May. My total was 75.8 miles. Job done!

This evening I cooked an awesome roast dinner and then we did some more packing. It’s been a good day.

Lockdown Day 67

Wow! What a day!

We are now in Stage 4 of lockdown and whilst we still have to maintain 2m of social distance when we are shopping etc, there has been an acknowledgement that keeping a social distance of 1m when you are in small groups is acceptable. This means only with people you know well, and who you would be able to give details for contact tracing if one of you fell ill (I think that’s how it works!)

Today we have had the most beautiful gorgeous sunny day and we spent most of it at the beach! We met up with friend, the kids played om the paddleboard and then we headed back to our friends house for a BBQ. We finished the evening watching the SpaceX launch.

It was lovely. It felt like things are heading back to normal and I was sooooo grateful that we are in the situation due to the hard work and commitment of everyone on this island.

Lockdown Day 66

Today has been a gorgeous day and we have had a beach sandwich. To let The Mister get on for a walk the kids and I headed to the beach for high tide – it was absolutely gorgeous at Vazon.

At lunchtime we did a quick run to warehouse to drop off some more stuff – we finally have a date for sell this house so fingers cross it all goes ahead.

In the afternoon it was my turn to do some walk whilst The Mister headed back to Vazon with the kids for a few more hours before I met them down there after a lovely walk through the lanes.

Gorgeous day. Long may this beautiful weather continue.

Lockdown Day 65

Today I had to go to work so I decided to walk in and walk home – I managed to do just over 6 miles and my legs are aching now!

The hospital has had a little make-over since the last time I was in and now has a fabulous rainbow painted on the front of of the building!

The kids made me laugh tonight playing with their pet snail called Carrot! I might be biased, but we really do have beautiful; children!

Lockdown Day 64

Another stonkingly beautiful. I switched things around a bit today and we headed to the beach in the morning as it was high tide and met with my sister. Even Dad popped down for half an hour. The kids happily played for a few hours and it was lovely.

I then walked home and started on some work. I also have to finish an essay and was just about to submit it when I realised the box on the uni website was not yet live. Very annoying!

Lockdown Day 63

It has been such a beautiful day. I managed to squeeze all my work into this morning and then the kids and I headed to Vazon beach.

Social distancing among the adults was fine, but the children struggled somewhat more!

A lovely day and now happy and tired children.

Lockdown Day 62

Another lovely day. First of all a quick trip to the warehouse to drop more stuff off – the loft is looking a lot emptier now!

We then headed to Cobo beach for lunch and a few house of Kindle reading for me and rock pooling for the kids. I have to say that social distancing was a but of a struggle for some people, and I was especially narked when a family plonked themselves right in the gap we had left to allow people access to the ladder over the sea wall. I am not sure 2m was the possible when one of the women was lying with her head about 20cm to the ladder. Ridiculous.

I then had a lovely walk home through the lanes. The hedgerows are just heavenly at the moment.

A gorgeous bank holiday weekend.

Lockdown Day 61

We have had a lovely day but I have hardly taken any photos! We went to the beach this morning and had planned to go for a swim – the kids were happy to go in… but it was too chilly for me! The Mister went in and as usual his fingers went the most horrible colour – I think he might see the GP at some point!

We headed back to Dad’s for a barbecue which was lovely and then came home to do a bit more sorting in the loft.

A gorgeous day.

Lockdown Day 60

We have had quite a busy day and this morning we took a load more stuff to the warehouse and after lunch we headed into town for a walk. It was nice to wander around all the little backstreets that we never get a chance to walk around. There are so many sets of steps which give lovely little glimpses of the other islands and some gorgeous views. After we had walked the children for a while I walked home to get a couple more miles in.

This evening we ordered Chinese takeaway with the neighbours – so nice to have our first takeaway in a long time!!

Lockdown Day 59

Wooohooooo today is a monumental day!!! The States of Guernsey have announced that our delightful, charming children are heading back to school full-time on 8 June. I am absolutely delighted and my liver is saved! The kids are less than pleased. They have also announced that hairdressers etc can reopen so, I made sure I took a pic of dad’s massive hair before he had it all cut off!

This afternoon we went for a lovely, but breezy walk with my sister and the kids (and their grubby dog!) and we ended the day with a church Zoom quiz which was fun.
