A lovely but blustery walk this afternoon. So lucky to live somewhere where there are such gorgeous views and walks on the doorstep.

Another nice relaxing Boxing Day.
We started the day with a lovely swim at Cobo iun aid of the Cheshire Homes. I am not sure how many people were there but several thousand I expect. The water was cold but lovely and I think this is the first time I have enjoyed the swim rather than endured it.
After this we had a surprisingly productive day of tidying and sorting out stuff in the kids room and as usual we have loads of stuff to go to the charity shop.
This evening after 4 negative lateral flow tests we went to my aunts house for tea with some of the family. Fewer of us than usual but we had a lovely time.

We have had a lovely, quiet sort of Christmas Day. I had intended that we would go out for a brisk walk this morning but the weather was so awful that we didn’t bother!
The kids opened their stockings in our bed and then we had breakfast followed by more family presents, Dad popped in for lunch and we Skyped the inlaws and my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. We went to my sister’s house at 4ish where we had a lovely Christmas dinner and we played a game. I haved receoved some lovely presents of a jewellry box, a reflective jacket for when I am cycling and a label maker!
We had such a lovely day and I am hugely grateful for my lovely family. We enjoyed a meal together, the kids played beautifully together and we enjoyed each others company. The best gift of all for me is to be together, and unfortunately so many people have been apart from their loved ones this Christmas due to Covid. I am grateful for all we have.
Such a lovely day.

It has been a very chilled out Christmas Eve – it has been so relaxed that I am wondering what I have forgotten to do!
I jumped out of bed this morning and went for a lovely group swim at Port Soif. I was cold but so beautiful! Emma and the kids came for lunch and then I spend the rest of the afternoon watching films by the lit fire. Perfect.
This evening I watched Carols on the TV and drank mulled wine before the kids got their Santa board ready with a mince pie and whisky for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph. Excitement levels are high!

I have had such a lovely day – it is y 46th birthday and we started with brunch with my Dad, sister and the kids. I also had my nails and eyebrows done and did a bit of shopping before seeing some family for a cuppa and then heading out to a local restaurant for dinner with my sister and friends.
I am hugely grateful for everyone who made today so lovely. Thankyou x

I got up super early this morning and went and did a Bodypump class and then had a fab massage.
The plan was then that Emma and I were going to go for a swim however we drove to a couple of bays and it was absolutely freezing with a chilly wind so we bailed out. The kids had. quick run around the martello tower and then we came home, lit the fire and drunk mulled wine. It was a perfect start to the Christmas holidays.

This afternoon the kids and I went down to Dad’s house to say a sad goodbye to Billy.
He has been getting more and more poorly and doddery over the last few months, and we are now at the point where is quality of life has deteriorated so much it is time to do the right thing. We explained this to the children but they are quite upset, but they also accept that it is the kindest thing to do.
Tomorrow he will go to the vet and then once he has been put to sleep Dad will bury him in the garden with the many other cats who have been our pets over the years.
Billy has been the most faithful companion to Dad and we think he is about 15 years old. Billy was actually the first photo that I ever put up on my blog when he was a teeny tiny and very cute kitten here.
We love having cats – they make a house a home but sometimes we have to make tough decisions.
Gorgeous Billy. We love you. Sleep well little one x

For the last few months I have been participating in a Zoom bookclub with my old friends from uni. We usually do them at the weekend so we can focus on the booze as well at the books so tonight was a little more restrained… well for me anyway… I cant say the same for everyone!
We also exchanged Secret Santa gifts and I received this gorgeous winter swimmer bauble. It is so beautiful. I am thrilled!
Happy Christmas ladies… I look forward to book club every month!
