Monday 26 December 2022

26.1Boxing Day kicked off with the annual charity swim at Cobo. There were at least a couple of thousand people there. I haven’t been able to swim for a few weeks as I have been busy, the weather has been bad and I have been poorly, however it was lovely!

This evening we popped into my Dad’s side of the family for an hour or so before going to my cousin Richard and his wife Liz’s house for tea and games. It was lovely to see so many of my cousins and the kids had a fabulous time haring around together.

I ended the evening my successfully completely by Christmas jigsaw 🙂

26.2

Another nice relaxing Boxing Day.

We started the day with a lovely swim at Cobo iun aid of the Cheshire Homes. I am not sure how many people were there but several thousand I expect. The water was cold but lovely and I think this is the first time I have enjoyed the swim rather than endured it.

After this we had a surprisingly productive day of tidying and sorting out stuff in the kids room and as usual we have loads of stuff to go to the charity shop.

This evening after 4 negative lateral flow tests we went to my aunts house for tea with some of the family. Fewer of us than usual but we had a lovely time.

Day 360

Boxing Day Swim

As is tradition in Guernsey we went to Cobo beach for the Boxing Day swim. It was a gorgeous day, mild and sunny and the beach was absolutely heaving. I have never seen so many people go in at this swim – over 700 I reckon.

It was bloody freezing but I went in and I even swam about a bit. The Little Miter is made of seriously stern stuff though and he skipped in and out of the water for ages – I am sure he doesn’t feel the cold at all!

A year in pictures – Day 360

26 December

As usual on Boxing Day we all went to Cobo Beach for the annual swim. This year I broke with tradition and decided to go in myself.

It was absolutely flipping freezing, but I have to admit I quite enjoyed it! I will not subject you of any horrendous pictures of me in a swimsuit though!

It was lovely to see the kids playing together on the beach. We love it in all weathers, regardless of whether it is warm and sunny or cold and windy!

2016 Project366 (Day 361)

Boxing Day Swim

Another fab day. First thing this morning we all wandered down to Cobo beach to watch the hundreds of people brave the biting wind to go in for the charity swim. Apparently the water wasn’t too bad but the wind made it feel really chilly. My husband and brother-in-law went in three times – the fools!

This evening we met up with my Dad’s side of the family. We had a fab evening of heaps of food and time to catch up. The Little Miss was an expert at working the room and really entertained all the aunts and uncles. The Little Mister spend the evening roaring about with his cousins and my cousins kids. They are both shattered but it has been lovely.
