Auntie Knows Best

The garden bounty continues. The French bean harvest has started – my absolute favourite vegetable!

In direct contrast to our tatty looking garden my Dad has the most beautiful garden. His dahlias are especially beautiful.

The Mister and I managed to get into the garden and do a but more tidying up. Our garden is pretty big – too big for us probably – and we struggle to keep on top of it. We are getting there though and have been digging out some of the scruffy, dead bushes.

We have had a lovely Bank Holiday although the weather hadn’t been amazing. We did manage to do a bit of planting in the veg patch though. It’s just as well we love beans – we have planted heaps of plants and I am expecting a bumper crop as long as the slugs do not get to them!

Bank Holiday today and we managed to get a bit of time in the garden sorting out the vegetable patch.

I have no ides what this plant is but it is always so beautiful when it blooms every year.

Pink and frothy and lovely. Glorious.

More beautiful flowers in the garden. They are just rampant and absolutely everywhere.

The garden is blooming and the apple tree is covered in gorgeous frothy white blossom. Coupled with a blue sky and the opportunity to hang the washing out, I am a happy lady!

The garden is such a mess at the moment. It needs more time than we can give it and it could be so beautiful!

We got out to do a but of tidying up today though. It felt good to be out and doing stuff.

We have quite a big garden and it is a constant battle to keep it looking ok. In contrast my Dad has the most immaculate garden. He spends a lot of money and hundreds of hours weeding and tidying. He also is growing a lot of plants ready to pot up, so I went to visit to see what I could scrounge for my tubs and pots!

It has been such a beautiful day today and we have spent quite a bit of time in the garden over the last couple of days. The Mister has been working very hard indeed.

Our potatoes are growing very nicely and we are prepping the veg patch for planting. I love growing our own food.
