2013 Project365 (Day 304)

Whhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!Today we went for a lovely long walk with a short stop off at the park for The Little Mister to have a go on the swings and the slide.

I love the fact that he is now getting big enough to play and to enjoy himself. He seems to love the slide, and is quite happy being launched at the top as long as someone is ready to catch up at the bottom!

This picture was taken by my mother-on-law as I barely took any photos today.

2013 Project365 (Day 303)

Pussy cat pillowThis evening The Mother-in-Law and her friend arrived for a few days stay.

She brought gifts with her, including this pillow which has a picture of the two kittens on it.

If you look carefully the black cat has a little halo embroidered over it’s head. It made me laugh such a lot.

2013 Project365 (Day 302)

SortingToday my sister and I had the task of starting to sort out Mum’s clothes.

It was a very strange feeling to be going through her stuff and there were a few tears and quite a few laughs as we found some things that we remembered her wearing. Mum and I had a similar style and there are a number of her clothes that I am taking to wear. It feels slightly odd to be doing so but I am sure that she would have been happy that the clothes were going to get a good use.

Every day we have to do things which make us think of Mum. Every day I have a little cry. I miss her so much

2013 Project365 (Day 301)

The BeakSo many people say to me that our boy is so wonderful and smiley and he is always looking so happy in all the photos. Well, that’s because we usually take photos of him looking cute and cheery.

So, today here is the alternative version. This is The Little Mister doing what we call The Beak which he does when he is not happy at all. It always makes me smile.

2013 Project365 (Day 300)

Ornamental CabbageI can’t believe I am up to day 300 already and I can’t believe it is such a dull picture today!

However I think this flower is lovely because it is so unusual. I think it is an ornamental cabbage and it feels like a really robust flower with a thick stem butt also has these really delicate fluted edges. So pretty.

2013 Project365 (Day 299)

Mud glorious mud!Plenty of rain overnight has left quite a lot of mud at the park. My niece, nephew and brother-in-law were quite happy squelching through it.

If weather reports are to be believed we are in for a much bigger storm than this though. I think we will clear away our garden toys tomorrow just in case they are right for once!

2013 Project365 (Day 298)

Tiger donkeyToday The Little Mister and I went for lunch with my Dad, sister and the kids. We had a lovely lunch and this donkey is outside the front door of the cafe. I was a little bit worried that The Little Mister might have fallen off but he seemed perfectly happy!

I can’t believe that it is a month ago today that Mum died. It has been just the longest month ever and yet time has raced by. In fact I am finding it harder than ever to deal with. The weeks straight after her death were taking up with organising and arranging and now we are just left with her absence. She was such an important part of our day to day lives and that is why we miss her so much. I saw her most days and spoke to her daily and I miss her more than I ever thought was possible and I know Dad and my sister do too. Thank goodness we have each other though.

2013 Project365 (Day 297)

The Great EscapeWe have a cat flap that goes put of the back door but we also have a glazed door through from the kitchen to the utility room. So the cat could get through we took out one of the bottom panes of glass.

Unfortunately The Little Mister finds everything in the utility room absolutely fascinating, especially the cat’s water bowl. This was the sight that greeted me today. He had almost managed to get through but had kind of got marooned on his tummy and didn’t have any foothold to push himself through to the other side. Very funny!

BadongoI haven’t taken any photos today so here is one from our trip to Jersey Zoo.

This handsome fellow is Badongo and and he has three girlfriends and one baby. No wonder he looks so sure of himself.

2013 Project365 (Day 295)

Dinner dateTonight my sister and I and our husbands went out for dinner with my cousin and her husband. It was my cousin Beccy’s birthday and we managed to keep our dinner date a secret which was a miracle!

We had a fantastic meal with lots of gossip and laughter. It’s nice to spend time together but I just feel so full now!
