2013 Project365 (Day 243)

Cone-headOur little kitty cats are definitely struggling with having to wear their lampshade collars and they are quite needy at the moment. I have already replace their collars once so far.

Anyway, this was lunchtime in our house today. The kitten was lying on the table and desperate for attention. Now I am sure that I will be mocked for this, but I know that cats have nice coloured fur but I didn’t realise that their skin was also different colours underneath!

2013 Project365 (Day 242)

The Three MusketeersThis afternoon The Little Mister and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Barnabas and Eden were there as well and they have now discovered that their toys are no longer safe! Whilst The Little Mister isn’t quite crawling in a conventional fashion, he kind of body-pops his way across the floor!

This picture really made me laugh because it looks like Grandma is being backed into a corner by the three children.

2013 Project365 (Day 241)

Cheeky Pixie!Over the last few months I have been busy making fairy and elf outfit for my friend Yasmin who is a photographer. This week she is running the most fabulous fairy grotto at a local garden centre and the photographs that are coming out are just amazing!

This is The Little Mister today. He is such a smiley little boy and seems to pose every time the camera gets pointed in his direction. We also have some lovely photos of him with his two cousins.

So, here is a link to the Fairyland at the Friquet Facebook page, but please go and ‘like’ the photo of The Little Mister so that we win the prize. His picture is here.

2013 Project365 (Day 240)

Sand WorldToday we had an unexpected day in Weymouth. We were meant to be on the boat at 1.30pm but due to it breaking down it was rescheduled to 6.15pm.

This morning we went to visit Sand World, which to be fair sounds a bit crap but it was actually really good. Sand art is apparently a real art form and this tourist attraction has some amazing pieces of work, including this one of Dr Who. There was a sci-fi theme this year so they also had Star Wars, Thunderbirds, War of the Worlds, amongst other things.

After this we went for a walk into town, had a nice lunch and then went for the boat.

We have had a lovely holiday but I am pleased to be home. Now, I have mountains of washing to do! Welcome to reality!!!

2013 Project365 (Day 239)

The GodmotherToday (Tuesday 27 August 2013) we left Cheltenham and drove to bristol where we had a visit to Ikea, Asda, Tescos and Mothercare. (Can you tell we don’t have proper shops in Guernsey?!)

We then drive to Weymouth where we were staying overnight before catching the boat home to Guernsey tomorrow.

Before we left Cheltenham we had breakfast with my best friend birdie and her family. She is also The Little Mister’s godmother so it is lovely to see them together. I miss living nearer to them but it makes any time together even better.

2013 Project365 (Day 238)

Beer and HymnsToday’s (Monday 26 August) lineup at Greenbelt was much better! Fat and Frantic kicked off proceedings at lunchtime and then The Mister and I hotfooted it to the Big Top for Beer and Hymns. In the past it has been one of my favourite events, but it didn’t really happen last year and there was some lame excuse about the beer tent not being big enough etc. This year Greenbelt proved that something can be sorted out if they want it to becasue the Big Top was made into a temporary extension of the beer garden. Beer and Hymns was hot, sweaty and fabulous. The Little Mister spent most of his time in the sling and he seemed to enjoy it.

The night was rounded off by Duke Special and the Greenbelt orchestra. It was absolutely fabulous and a great way to end the weekend.

So, that; it for another year. A different Greenbelt for us, but a very enjoyable one. I have to admit that I enjoyed not camping as I felt like my time on the festival site was well spent. I loved seeing all my friends and it is always the chance to touch base with some of my dearest friends. Listening to good music and hearing good talks is always a bonus, it is the people I want to see.

2013 Project365 (Day 237)

5 years today!Today (Sunday 25 August 2013) we spent all day onsite at Greenbelt although there wasn’t an awful lot that really appealed to me. The evening lineup on mainstage was just so loud that it totally turned me off. The Little Mister and I went to communion which I quite enjoyed for a change. First thing in the morning I also appeared on Radio Guernsey talking about Greenbelt!

The most important thing about today though is that it is five years today since The Mister and I got together. Five of the happiest years of my life, and marked by a picture of our best achievement so far!

2013 Project365 (Day 236)

The Juggler's AssistantToday we went onto site at 10ish and stayed all day. For part of the afternoon we looked after our friend’s daughter Elizabeth. She is generally pretty entertaining and was the jugglers assistant at one of the sideshows. She is such a confident, cheerful little girl and she is a pleasure to have around.

This evening we heard the rather amazing Boxettes who do close harmony and some incredible beatboxing and then we went to hear Graham Kendrick play in the Big Top. He mainly did his old favourites and I was genuinely quite impressed at his performance, especially when you realise how old so many of those songs are! Also some of them are really quite good and generally theologically sound. Of course, the biggest hit of the show was Shine Jesus Shine!

2013 Project365 (Day 235)

DJ babyWe packed up the campsite and drove to Cheltenham to go to Greenbelt.

After last year’s mudbath I had decided that I couldn’t face camping so we booked into the Premier Inn. Apart from it being baking in the rooms it is perfect for our needs!

We went onto site at 6ish and saw Eliza Carthy and Jim Moray on mainstage. They were fantastic!

Here is The Little Mister modelling his ear defenders. He keeps trying to take them off but seems to be getting used to wearing them.

2013 Project365 (Day 234)

Beach babeToday (Thursday) was a glorious day so we all went to the beach at Borth. This is a big beach with lots of space to run about so was brilliant with the kids.

I took loads of photos in the day but this is one of my favourites. This is Annie, she is my friend’s daughter and she loves the beach. By the end of the day she was head to toe in sand and I was told she had to be showered at least twice to get rid of it all! A lovely day, and a great way to end our holiday.
