My lovely sister and her stupid dog Obi.
He likes eating her vegetable plants and his own poo.
He’s grim. Beautiful but revolting.
Last night I was persuaded by my friend Emma to do a charity walk. Ten and a half miles or glorious coastline, sunshine and a beautiful sunset. I was seriously mis-sold.
It pissed down with rain for about 70% of the walk and there was barely a part of me that was dry. My hips and ankles were agony and I got through the last 4 miles with co-codamol, naproxen and pink gin.
I more or less power walked the last mile when I realised that if I didn’t get a move on I wouldn’t have time to go to the chippy before we had to catch the night bus. I made it. The chips were utterly delicious.
Despite all my whinging – Emma said it was like walking with a toddler – I was pleased to have completed it. I am never doing it in the rain again though.
The Little Mister continues with his music lessons. Next week they have their open morning and performance so we all went to see his final rehearsal.
I love seeing him sing, clap rhythms and play his violin. He seems to be quite musical, despite him protesting about having to go all the time. I really hope he carries on.
Finally our beautiful Scarlet Macaw picture has made it onto the wall in our hallway.
It was painted by our very talented friend Rob. I love it.
We love having original artworks in our house and it makes it even more special that it has been painted by a friend. I think my mother-in-law is going to particularly like this one – she really loves parrots!
I think I need to find him a name though.
My aunt and uncle have been over visiting for the last couple of weeks. Ordinarily they are resident in Argentina where my Uncle Nick is the Archbishop (or Primate as he is properly called!) for South America. Unfortunately due to the pandemic they have been stranded in the UK for over a year – hopefully they will be able to get back soon.
It has been lovely to see then and The Little Mister is especially fond of cuddles with them.
Safe journey Auntie Cath and Uncle Nick. We will miss you x
Happy Father’s Day. We are so lucky to have fabulous fathers in our families. Stable, loving, hardworking and kind. We are truly fortunate.
We have had a lovely day. The kids and I went to church and then this afternoon The Little Mister went out with friends to play Pokemon and The Little Miss had a friend over for a playdate.
Later in the afternoon we went to a local hotel where the kids swam in the pool before we had dinner with my sister and her family and our Dad.
I tried really hard to get a nice photo of Grandpa and the kids but in every single picture one of them was messing about and making a silly face.
We love you Dad/Grandpa. We are lucky to have you in our lives x
