2016 Project366 (Day 152)

Will PoundThe new mental health facility in Guernsey is a really fantastic venue and there is a cafe in the foyer which is staffed predominantly by service users and it is really well used.

Today there was a fantastic concert by a young harmonica and accordion player called Will Pound. He was a really surprise although I knew that he had played at a number of folk clubs and festivals and he played at Sark Folk Festival. He was absolutely amazing and it was so delightful to see some of the older residents of the wards really enjoying themselves.

Brilliant to hear the mental health building being used for something so joyous.

2016 Project366 (Day 151)

Bank holiday

I love May. There are so many bank holidays and that makes me super happy!!!

This morning we took the kids to go and watch some of the hillclimb. Usually we go to the top of the hill to see them crossing the finish line but today we were at the bottom by the pits. The Little Mister found it rather noisy but it was nice to get up close to the cars.

This is my favourite picture of the day. This man is an awesome Daddy to our children.

We had a picnic lunch on a bench overlooking the harbour and my Dad and sister and her family came for a barbecue.

A perfect end to the final bank holiday weekend of May!

2016 Project366 (Day 150)

Friends

We have had a lovely day and friends joined us this afternoon for a barbecue.

There is nothing I like more than a bottle of prosecco, a good catch up and happy children (mostly happy anyway) playing together, even if they did all end up absolutely soaking from the water table!

Roll on summer with more barbecues and many more bottles of prosecco!

2016 Project366 (Day 149)

FoxgloveWe spent this afternoon clearing up our patio as we are planning on barbecuing over the weekend and we have people coming to stay in the house next week whilst we are on holiday.

This foxglove was transplanted from the veg patch into a flower bed and it is coming along beautifully. Such vibrant, beautiful colour. Glorious.

Beach afternoon

Today has been a gorgeous day and we spent the afternoon at the beach. It was fabulous with good company and children who (eventually) were sharing and playing nicely!

By the end of the afternoon we had four happy and naked children running up the beach. Perfect!

2016 Project366 (Day 147)

Box trainI was cooking tea when I realised that it had all gone quiet in the lounge.

I wandered in to find The Little Mister sitting in a box, on a box. He said it was a very comfortable train. Obviously.

2016 Project366 (Day 146)

Dressed for breakfastI love this little girl. Sparkly and funny and developing a an iron-will.

She loves dressing up and this photo made me smile so much. Pushing her beloved rabbit with a handbag slung over the buggy handles and wearing her bracelets.

Well played Babs.

2016 Project366 (Day 145)

24 May 2016The last couple of days have been tricky with childcare due to unexpected circumstances but we have had some amazing family and friends who have helped out.

After I picked them up we popped to see my Dad and they spent a happy half an hour playing on the swings in the garden.

Today I am grateful for the small things. We have wonderful friends and family and we live in a beautiful place. What could be better?

Pussy cat presents

Our delightful pussy cats love us so much that they are bringing us regular gifts.

This morning we went into the kitchen to find this really big slow worm lying in the middle of it. The kids were fascinated but it completely gives me a shivers.

2016 Project366 (Day 143)

Time outI have a feeling that this scene might start becoming more common over the next few years.

The Little Miss is now getting big enough that she is winding The Little Mister up and as a result they end up smacking each other and then inevitably having time out, both sitting at each end of the hallway.

Unfortunately it makes The Mister and I laugh so we often end up sitting them out there before retreating and laughing at their behaviours.
