Week 12 – 20–26 March 2023

40

This week The Little Mister had hos Grade 2 violin exam – he has been practicing hard for weeks. I think he was a little bit wobbly so we will see if he has passed. We promised him that if he worked hard he could have a treat and he requested a meal out at China Red so we took him and his sister and our lovely friend Kayleigh out. It was a delicious meal.

Eliza went to Cubs this week and they had an Eygptian night so they all dressed up – her friend James went as a Sphinx which really made me laugh.

We also had parents evenings and both kids are doing really well. The Little Miss’ teacher waxed lyrical about hos marvellous she was and how helpful, compliant etc she was at school. Of course when we got in the car she refused to get out of the front seat and was shouting her head off. Oh! The irony!

I also went to the Eisteddfod exhibition and took a pic of my friend Elise’s gorgeous embroidery, I went to two partied on Saturday night and The Mister took a photo of my which my sister described as ‘making me look a member of the case of Willow’.

On Saturday morning I went to weights and worked hard and The Little Miss and I have matching shoes. A good week.

Week 6 – 6-12 February 2023

1.2

1.4It has been a lovely week. The weather has been mainly clear and there are signs of spring everywhere. We have also had some truly gorgeous sunrises and sunsets – my Mum would have described them as ‘glorious’! I have enjoyed being out on Basil the bike all week. Commuting to work is much more enjoyable when it isn’t in the car!

We went out for a choir meal on Monday and then I went out with some social worker friends on Wednesday. Ut was lovely to spend time with different people.

The local paper featured a lovely article about my Auntie Doris who was a bit of a local heroine in WW2 when she ran a soup kitchen.

The week ended with a school disco and a visit from my cousin and her kids. A lovely week.

Week 1 – 2-8 January 2023

13Week 1

Whilst I am not going to post daily. I am going to try and post weekly. Just a photo update so I can keep track of what goes on in this year.

This week has seen New Year’s Day, time off, a trip to the soft play area, back to school, back to work. Dad’s 75th birthday party and an 180th birthday party.

26.1

Today The Little Mister had a gaming party for his birthday – he isn’t actually going to be 10 for a few weeks but it is tough having a birthday in December!

He and several of his mates had a great time playing computer games and eating snacks. The perfect party for him.

10.1

Oh this has been such a tough week. I have really struggled with feeling stressed and I havem’t felt very well which has contributed to the difficulties.

These two have both been the lights of my week, but also one of the stresses. So much fun but so challenging!

Monday 31 October 2022

31.1Every weekday morning before the kids are allowed TV they have to do their violin practice and get dressed and ready for school. It’s the only way to get it done… it can be a little challenging if I haven’t consumed enough coffee though!

30.1

Before I had children I was that person who would tut away when I saw kids sat at the table when they were out for dinner staring at a screen. These days I am definitely not that person!

This morning we had already been to the beach for a swim, been to church and spent time with friends. This little interlude was a glorious few minutes whilst we waited for Dad when I could drink my wine in peace.

I remember my mantra… “Low expectations equals high satisfaction.”
