A year in pictures – Day 302

Fort Houmet and friends

We took advantage of some reasonable weather and headed out for a walk across Vazon beach to Fort Houmet.

Such a nice afternoon spent with lovely friend. The kids played (mostly) nicely together and it meant that my friend Emma and I had the chance to catch up properly.

Friends, the beach and the physical health to go for a walk. Many blessings.

Party time

The Little Miss and I had a brilliant morning at my cousin’s wife’s baby shower.

As always with our family there was a significant amount of cake and I ended up leaving feeling rather sick.

The Little Miss was so excited to be going to a party and she picked out her favourite party dress. She loves dressing up at the moment and she looked so beautiful in her lovely dress.

Friends

I have made it into the three hundreds again!

This evening we ended half term on a high by going out for dinner with our lovely friends the Worthingtons and Brownings.

We went to Crabby Jacks, our favourite family friendly restaurant as they have a fab playground. The kids were happy playing and we got a chance to all catch up over a glass of wine. Win win.

Movie morning

This morning we went the cinema to see Peppa Pig: My First Movie.

It was undoubtedly cheesy and was basically about half a dozen episodes of Peppa Pig strung together with an annoying kids TV presenter with two puppets. That was a bit cringe-worthy but it could have been so much worse!

However, the kids LOVED it! The Little Mister really enjoyed it but The Little Miss laughed and giggled and sang her way through it. It made me smile to hear how much they enjoyed it.

Hair cutToday The Little Miss had her hair cut for the first time.

Unlike her big brother who behaved like I was torturing him, she was as good as gold. She sat nicely with the iPad talking to Nikki who was cutting her hair.

I was a very proud Mummy.

Cousins

Had a lovely lunch at my cousin Beccy’s house and then we went off to the leisure centre for an Aqua Fun session which basically involved a load of inflatables and trying to stop small children drowning.

It makes me so happy to see all the cousins together. They had a lovely time together.

Windy walk

The weather has been pretty blustery today.

We had a lovely lunch at The Rockmount and then went for a windy walk across the beach. It was nice to get out even if we nearly got blown over and the kids ended up soaking wet!

Bye bye Manora

The weather has been pretty awful today as Storm Brian has rolled into the island.

We took a short walk out this afternoon and walked up the back path which is behind where my Gran’s house once stood. This ginormous hole is where it was and they are building a swanky new modern property to replace it. Goodness knows how many tonnes of granite they have dug out from the cliff.

It made me slightly tearful to think about the fact that the house in which we spent so many happy times is now gone. I am sure the new house will be stunning but I am so sad that they couldn’t be bothered to maintain the property and use what they had. It was so iconic on the landscape.

School

Today the Lieutenant Governor and his wife visited The Little Mister’s school.

This was one of the pics that was taken and apparently Edward and his friend Buddy had been talking to the chauffeur of the posh car and he let them sit in the back. It made me smile because apparently they told him ‘That was awesome. Thank you!’
