2014 Project365 (Day 243)

Blackberries

We have managed to grow lots of lovely things in our garden but rather ironically the thing that has done the best and have been most fruitful are the blackberries. We have done absolutely nothing with them other than pick them! Yummy and my freezer is becoming nicely stocked with fruit.

2014 Project365 (Day 242)

FamilyI love the weekends when life is a bit more chilled out and The Mister is here to help field the children!

This morning The Mister took The Little Mister swimming, we saw a load of family and then The Mister spent some time digging one of the flower beds. He was ably assisted by The Little Mister who ended up filthy, especially his socks because her refused to wear his wellies.

I love my little family.

Gill's Garden

My Mum was a brilliant reception teacher and she taught at the same school, Amherst, for 15+ years. She loved the kids and the staff and was fully committed to making school an awesome experience for the children in her class.

Dad has arranged for the school to have this lovely little garden in her memory and I am delighted with it. Hopefully it will be something that gives the children and staff loads of pleasure.

Mum would have loved it and thoroughly approved.

2014 Project365 (Day 240)

Baby loveToday the kids and I went to see a friend from school who is back on the island on holiday with her family.

It was lovely to see her and we really haven’t seen each other hardly at all since we left school. Since then she has gone on to have four children and I have had two!

This is a picture of her youngest daughter, Martha who is 4.5 months old and my beautiful Little Miss who is one month today. Check out the size difference!

Swimming

This morning my sister took The Little Mister swimming along with my niece and nephew.

They had a lovely time but this photo made me smile. The kids have such different skin tones they look so different!

2014 Project365 (Day 238)

A walk in the parkToday The Little Mister, The Little Miss and I took a walk in our local park.

The Little Mister looked at the ducks, patted the dogs, run up and down the paths but best of all he loved pushing the buggy up and down. The only downside is that he doesn’t want any help, even when he starts heading towards the duck pond!!

2014 Project365 (Day 237)

Team 7 in 7

Another picture from yesterday.

This is the boys just after the end of their seven marathons in seven days, with their amazing wives who have put up with them running all hours of the day, eating them out of house and home and running around after them whilst the marathons were going on. Not to mention having to put up with the complaining about the aches and pains.

I reckon that the four of them have done a great job on this challenge. Well done!

2014 Project365 (Day 236)

Guernsey Waterfront MarathonToday was the Guernsey Waterfront Marathon and The Mister was running it today. Doing a marathon was on his bucket list and he managed to complete it in 3 hours 54 minutes which was an awesome time. He even managed to look fairly cool, calm and collected as he crossed the finish line.

I am so proud of him and he has trained long and hard for this and it is well deserved.

Philip and Warren also completed their 7 marathons in 7 days by finishing in just under 5 hours. They have done a great job despite having knackered joints. There is still time to sponsor them at www.thisisepic.org.uk

Well done everyone. We are really proud of you!

2014 Project365 (Day 235)

New shoes!Yesterday we took The Little Mister to buy some new shoes.

We went to the rather brilliant Sole Mates because they really take time and care to fit shoes properly and to make sure that they are absolutely right.

We bought this lovely retro pair of Pedipeds. Gorgeous (and expensive!) they fit beautifully and I love that they look a bit like bowling shoes!

2014 Project365 (Day 234)

7 Marathons in 7 Days

The boys have now completed 5 out of their 7 planned marathons for charity..

They are doing an awesome job but are completely shattered and their bodies are starting to fall apart. I think that they have found it harder than they ever could have expected and it is sheer bloody-mindedness that is now keeping them going.

They now have to get through tomorrow and then it is onto their final marathon on Sunday which is also the Guernsey Waterfront Marathon. If they get that far then they should be carried along by the strength of the crowd of runners.

Until then, if you see them out running, toot your horn, give them a shout and a cheer and definitely donate to two incredibly worthy causes. They definitely need lots of support and encouragement to help them get to the end of this challenge.

Philip and Warren are putting themselves through absolute hell to raise money for people less fortunate, both in Guernsey and in Africa. They are doing a great job, so put your hand in your pocket and flash the case!
