I am trying really hard to diet at the moment and I seem to be living off soup for lunch as it is quick and easy and low-calorie.
This is one of my favourites. Tasty and full of fibre. Delicious.
Throughout the summer Guernsey shuts the town seafront and has a variety of events on Sundays. They are called Seafront Sunday and have all sorts of themes from motorsport to Arts and today Was food Seafront Sunday.
The town was heaving as usual, mainly due to the cruise ship that was moored up in The Little Russell and there were food demos and stalls selling all sorts.
One of our favourite stalls is Atan Ahan and they sell delicious Thai food. The Mister had a really hot beef curry and as usual I had the delicious Crispy Pork. It is gorgeous, fresh and tasty fast food. You don’t find that very often!
First of all I had The Little Mister’s three and half year check which was pretty traumatic, especially when he saw them coming towards him with the injections and he looked up at me and said ‘Don’t let them hurt me Mummy.’ It made me cry.
Then this afternoon I had a couple of meetings that were a bit like being on Jeremy Kyle. Exhausting.
I picked the kids up from the childminder and couldn’t even face cooking tea so phoned my Dad and headed straight for a local restaurant. I don’t think I have ever done that!!
Oh well. Almost bedtime!
One of our biggest expenses apart from our mortgage and a few other bills is food. It seems to cost us an absolute fortune even when we budget hard. I guess it is partly because we rarely eat out and we take packed lunches etc.
This week was even worse though. It was pay day which means a bigger than usual shop and =he inlaws are arriving on Monday so that’s two more people to feed in the evenings.
I dream of having a Lidl, Aldi, an Asda or a Tescos. Instead we have Waitrose. This was a nearly £200 shop. Ouch.
