28.1

The Little Miss has been begging me to go and help on a school trip and this morning I took some TOIL and went to help on her class trip to The Accidental Zoo. It was brilliant – the kids did a farm tour, a craft activity and had a reptile talk.

The zoo is lovely but my favourite bit was the little piglets. They are so cute and playful.

It was nice to see Eliza with her friends and she is so fortunate that she has had so many opportunities at school. It is crazy to think that this is the first year they have actually been at school a whole year since Reception!

27.1This morning I played chicken with the weather, waiting at home untilthe rain showers had stopped before I left for work.

Unfortunately I lost. I had very wet legs and feet when I arrived at work – fortunately the weather cleared up by the time I cycled home!

26.1

The Little Miss and I went to church this morning and The Mister collected The little Mister from Cub Camp. He has had the most wonderful time and I love the fact that The Scouting movement teaches them so many important life skills and provides the most phenomenal amount of opportunities and experiences for them all. I am so grateful to the volunteers who allow these things to happen.

We spent the afternoon in the garden, working hard to tidy things up, cutting the lawn etc. I also harvested all the potatoes – not a bad haul!

We had a quick trip to Vazon for a delicious high tide swim before a ‘freezer-dive’ tea. Two very tired children now asleep in bed… onto another busy busy week!

25.525.4Today was an extremely busy day. Both kids had Music Centre Open Day.

The Little Miss was on first and had Primary Choir which was fantastic – she has complained wuite a lot over the last few weeks about going to practices but since she saw me rehearsing with my choir she has been much happier to attend. They were absolutely brilliant. `She then had Primary Violins and made a really great sound. I am very proud of her for working so hard at her violin.

The Mister then went to pick up The Little Mister from Cub Camp. He wet wiped him down and put him in uniform and he went and performed with Junior Strings. After the assault on the ears that was the woodwind and brass group before them they were fantastic. Really good sound and The Little Mister looked so comfortable playing his violin. I was very proud of him.

We are so grateful for the wonderful Guernsey Music centre and their staff. We are fortunate to get such high quality musical education and I love the fact that at least twice a year, no matter what level, we get to hear them perform. Wonderful.

After the open morning The Little Mister was returned to camp to continue with activities such as Tomahawk throwing.

24.1A quick trip to the gym whilst The Little Miss was swimming today.

My life is so sad that I was excited by the new weight plates.

I need to get out more (somewhere other than the gym!)

This evening The Little Mister has headed off to Cub Camp. I hope he has a wonderful time – it certainly looked like they were prepped for a busy weekend.

23.1

This evening we went to see the movie that had been made of the musical A La Perchoine.

A La Perchoine was written about 30 years ago by Martin Cordall and was staged again a few years later and then the intention was the put it on again to years ago.. then Covid got in the way… so they decided to make it as a film instead!

My cousin Tim was involved and lots of people we know were in it.

I have to say that I don’t love the music of A La Perchoine, but it was rather wonderful. Locally made and produced and was such a high standard.

Fantastic work everyone!

22.1

The Little Mister has been practising hard (and often resentfully) for his Grade 1 violin exam which is scheduled for Friday.

At the moment we have a lot of wailing in the morning but I hope he carries on with it. He really is very musical and quite talented,

19.119.3Happy Father’s Day to the best Dad in the world.

The children are so fortunate to have a Dad who loves them so much and would so anything for them. He is patient and reliable and we love him so very much.

We had a lovely day. I took the kids to church and then we went out for lunch.

(My Dad is pretty good too but he is on holiday so no pics of him today!)
