Auntie Knows Best

On Saturday The Little Mister took part in touch Ruby competition which was really good although they lost every match (I think!)

Every week is busy but this week we had a few additional extra activities.

In the afternoon The Little Miss went to the Guernsey Music Centre to try out a load of instruments and see which one she fancies learning. She was determined to like the flute the best but came away with the clarinet as her favourite….. I am obviously delighted as this is the instrument I learnt to play. Fingers crossed she gets it!

We also had numerous swimming awards and on Sunday The Mister ran the Guernsey marathon. I think he found it rather a tough run today but he managed to finish in under 4 hours.

Roll on the end of this week and the start of the Easter Holidays. I am knackered!!!

Today was an extremely busy day. Both kids had Music Centre Open Day.

The Little Miss was on first and had Primary Choir which was fantastic – she has complained wuite a lot over the last few weeks about going to practices but since she saw me rehearsing with my choir she has been much happier to attend. They were absolutely brilliant. `She then had Primary Violins and made a really great sound. I am very proud of her for working so hard at her violin.

The Mister then went to pick up The Little Mister from Cub Camp. He wet wiped him down and put him in uniform and he went and performed with Junior Strings. After the assault on the ears that was the woodwind and brass group before them they were fantastic. Really good sound and The Little Mister looked so comfortable playing his violin. I was very proud of him.

We are so grateful for the wonderful Guernsey Music centre and their staff. We are fortunate to get such high quality musical education and I love the fact that at least twice a year, no matter what level, we get to hear them perform. Wonderful.

After the open morning The Little Mister was returned to camp to continue with activities such as Tomahawk throwing.

Today was Music Centre Open Morning and I am so proud of these two.

The Little Mister was in junior strings and The Little Miss was in primary strings and primary choir. They did absolutely brilliantly and I was just thrilled with how well they participated and how confident they both were.

This evening I sang in a choir concert and the kids came to watch. At bedtime I said to The Little Miss, ‘I am so proud of you’ and she said to me ‘I am proud of you too Mummy. We both did excellent singing didn’t we?’ She’s right. We did.
