Week 28 – 10-16 July 2023

28.8

What a busy week – the Island Games have started and it has been absolutely fantastic. I spent much of the week trying to squeeze things in between meetings and clients so I managed to catch a bit of the basketball which was really exciting. The Little Miss and I queued one day to get in for the swimming. It was so inspiring for her to see people she sees at training, competing and winning. The atmosphere was electric!

28.15On Friday The Mister and I took the day off work and we went into town to watch the Half Marathon and then the Cycling Criterium which was really exciting. The weather was pretty awful which made for exciting but dangerous racing. We picked the kids up from school and went back into town to watch the Triathalon relay. This was such a fine event but the rain was torrential – it was awful but we still had a great time! I was in awe of the sporting achievements of the individual athletes and the local support was phenomenal. Such a brilliant event 🙂

The Mister and I also managed to squeeze in a trip to theatre (well in marquee at the park!) when we went to see a performance of Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was absolutely fantastic! Funny and entertaining and I even understood it all!

The week ended with a BBQ with some of the girls and their families from choir and some kitten love. What a great week!

5.1Another kitty cat pic as I am still not feeling well.

This little beauty Susie is really starting to come out of her shell. she even let the kids handle her today and didn’t seem especially scared.

She is beautiful, such unusual colouring and her ears are huge!

2.1Dad has expanded his family by acquiring two really cute little kittens called Claude and Susie.

He has an older cat called Billy who is really getting very thin and quite poorly. He is fine at the moment but we suspect that he won’t be around for an awfully long time. You could call the new kittens a form of succession planning. I cant imagine Dad not having any cats!

This little one is Claude and he is big and brave and completely gorgeous. The Little Miss is completely smitten with him… so am I!

2015 Project365 (Day 322)

Loo paper problemBloody kittens! They have an absolute obsession with the toilet paper.

This was a brand new roll that they have lovingly gone to work on. If we forget to shut the bathroom door this is inevitably the result.

Naughty little things. Just as well they are so cute.

2015 Project365 (Day 300)

Pussy cat toes

Day 300 and a picture of pussy cat toes!

Our kittens are very special as both of them have 6 toes on each foot. Apparently it isn’t that unusual but I do think it is quite sweet

2015 Project365 (Day 273)

Friends?I promise you that no pussy cats were harmed in the making of this photograph!

One of the challenges of having small children and small pussy cats is teaching them both to be gentle with the other. We are getting there I think and it is very cute to see the kids gently stroking the cats. It is less amusing when you see them doing something a little rougher.

I hope one day they will love each other.

2015 Project365 (Day 249)

Walkies

Our kittens are settling in nicely despite being terrorised by two small children who love them a lot!

Eric, the rather stupid ginger kitten seemed to enjoy being pushed about by The Little Miss in a buggy.

A child who has started walking in the general direction of whichever kitten is in eyesight.

God help us all!

2013 Project365 (Day 303)

Pussy cat pillowThis evening The Mother-in-Law and her friend arrived for a few days stay.

She brought gifts with her, including this pillow which has a picture of the two kittens on it.

If you look carefully the black cat has a little halo embroidered over it’s head. It made me laugh such a lot.
