This lovely embroidered card was given to me by my mother-in-law. She bought it from Oxfam but it was made in Bangladesh.
I think is really pretty and is currently sitting on the mantlepiece. Maybe I will try and find a frame for it and hang it somewhere.
No exciting photos today. I have been on training today and I am absolutely shattered!
I am sorry there are so many pictures of The Little Mister at the moment but he is so funny and is learning so many different things.
This is him demonstrating his appalling table manners. The spaghetti bolognese appeared to go down a treat!
Mealtimes are becoming something of a challenge at the moment. The Little Mister keeps launching stuff over the side of his highchair and then giving us a big beaming smile. The Mister told him off the other day and gently smacked his hand. It was all going well until The Little Mister deployed the bottom lip. Neither of us can keep straight face when faced with the monumental bottom lip!!
Our house has a lovely garden although it has been a bit neglected and overgrown. Dad has been giving us advice and The Mister has started digging a vegetable patch and pruning some of the rampant shrubs.
Dad and The Little Mister were out inspecting The Mister’s work and I caught them sitting and chilling on the frame of the swing-seat. I love seeing them together.
This afternoon my niece came over the play whilst my sister took my nephew to the cinema.
We had a lovely afternoon. We watched a film, played with The Little Mister’s toys, ate ice lollies and generally chilled out. She was as good as gold and thoroughly delightful.
This picture made me smile so much. It is my niece and son both playing on their ‘mobile phones’. They are so funny when they are together.
I suspect The Little Mister is going to get himself a reputation for stealing cars.
It was only this time last week that I was putting up a picture of him in his friend Edward’s car and he has been at it again today!
This week he is driving a rather flashy pink number which belongs to his friend Amelia. She was not amused by his designs on her motor!
Apart from my engagement and wedding rings this is my most treasured piece of jewellry.
The beautiful locket belonged to my lovely Gran Nora and then my Mum inherited it. The back of it has numerous dents caused by The Little Mister chewing it and I adore the fact that this has been worn by Mum and Gran.
I wore it to work today and found myself holding it between the palms of my hands, thinking about Mum and how much I miss her at the moment.
When I wear it I feel like my Mum is so close to my heart. A place that she will always and forever remain.
I think this toy telephone was a present from Uncle David and The Little Mister seems to really like it.
It does amuse me that, bearing in mind he has never even seen a phone this shape, that he still seems to know what to do with it.
I was trying to convince him that Daddy was on the end of the telephone but I don’t think he was convinced!
This isn’t a picture I took today but it is a picture that makes me smile.
This is me and The Little Mister in the garden on Saturday when I was doing some pruning. He is in the Manduca carrier which he is generally quite happy in. It certainly makes life a bit easier if we have stuff to do in the house or the garden.
We have a new sofa!!! It is deliciously comfortable and fits our room so much better than the previous bits of furniture we had in there. I have even tested it out by having a little nap. Very comfortable indeed!
Now all I need to make the lounge complete is a nice wooden toybox and a hearth rug.
Today we went for lunch at Auntie Josie’s house and it was delicious!! A fabulous roast pork dinner with all the trimmings followed by lemon meringue pie. Yum. It was just nice to go out somewhere for a lovely Sunday lunch because we so miss being able to go to Mum’s on a Sunday.
Later in the afternoon we also had to eat a piece of this cake as tomorrow is my cousin Nic’s birthday. Auntie Josie did us proud! Thankyou x
